Simlink update loop

Alright, thank you everyone. And now, may we please have your log files? To add to the above, here is how you find the logs:

  1. Open Simlink
  2. Select the Logs tab
  3. Press the Open log folder button in the bottom right
  4. In the window that opens, find the latest modified file and upload it to your next post here!

simlink_2025-02-19.dlog (3.2 KB)

Thank you! The logs are puzzling to us so far. Could you also send the result of navigating to the following link?

https://dl.navigraph-cdn.com/software/simlink/windows/latest.json

This is the file that Simlink relies on in order to determine the latest version of the application. Your logs show that you are either unable to reach this URL, or that it is returning old information.

Hi @ArisAgustoni ,

Can you please also send a Simlink Status Windows screenshot like this?

https://ibb.co/ymz4L454

And the miracle (I have done nothing)

{
“version”: “1.1.39.1902”,
“current”: “true”,
“operating_system”: “Windows”,
“download_url”: “Navigraph”,
“date_published”: “2024-11-10T09:41:48.34Z”,
“download_page_url”: “https://dl.navigraph-cdn.com/software/simlink/windows/Navigraph+Simlink.exe”,
“software”: “e5431a0d-8735-4e89-9e41-d820334b2909”
}

However this is based on the last screenshot where everything is ok.
Haven’t read your message before

Same problem here, just got another update message

Hello @ArisAgustoni and @Guenseli ,

Right now it looks like all things are current and updated Simlink is installed.

if you get an older version update notification again then at that time please send the results as @skysail asks here.

And also please send the last updated Simlink log files.

Thank you for your valuable support.

What I find strange is that if right now I download the Simlink installer that i find on Navigraph website and launch it, the version that appear is .1902 and NOT the .1912 as suggested by Simlink when advising that there is an update… How that could be ?

Hi @ArisAgustoni ,

FYI: Latest Simlink version is 1.1.39.1902

Same problem here, after a clean install I keep receving a message that an update is available ( the .1912 version), but after updating I am still on version 1902.
Attached is a picture of the first screen that appear after downloading the latest SimLink file from your website. You can clearly see that it say 1.1.39.1902 and NOT .1912.

Hi @RedFlag ,

Can you please send result of this?

Thanks, So the update version “.1912” is wrong then ?

1.1.39.1902 is the latest version. There is something weird going on with your network setups that results in Simlink believing that the previous version (1.1.37.1912) is the latest.

Compare these two versions, and you’ll see which is the more recent:

1.1.37.1912
1.1.39.1902

Note that the first is 37 and the other is 39 - the last one is newer.

you’re right ! Mmhh… do you think cleaning any log file could influence anything ?
My first log start in 2023 and I got 373 elements in it…

No. And I believe that this is on a network level, beyond the reach of any of us.

Are you still seeing the update message? Everything looks correct here.

Yep. It’s still there, still seeing the “Download Update” 1.1.37.1912"
https://ibb.co/4w7FNnch

I’ve noticed that too. There could also be a version conflict ?

Is there a way to completely and fully remove anything related to SimLink ? This way I can try to restart the PC after doing it and see if a “new” fresh install will solve this issue ?
I also have Navigraph Charts, HUB and FMS Data manager installed. Could they maybe influence something in regard to this issue ?
