VATSIM/ IVAO Integration - Active ATC with respective frequencies and traffic

As I said above,

We don’t give timelines generally and in any event not until the feature list is complete and we are in development. Rest assured we are keen to get this to users as soon as we can.

Indicating if in development simply places expectations on release dates, which we dont give because they can change based on other priorities.

VATSIM/ IVAO Integration is on our radar, and will be developed and released as soon as possible.

Cheers

It would be a great experience. Moreover, Volanta does this which means it is possible to develop

I also think this will be a great and useful feature!

Hopefully sooner than later though!

I think this was requested back in 2021 in other threads.

Hi guys,

This is now an announced feature https://www.youtube.com/live/oBcELHpmb1c?si=6aNxDtzI0c2xshhm&t=4783 in active development.

What is shown in the demo is more of a tech-preview than final design of the feature so if you have any specific ideas of what you would like to see just drop it here and we will consider all feedback in our ongoing development.

Kind regards,

Markus

Thank You! Thank You!! Thank You!!!

The CTAF frequency for VATSIM would also be epic.

Hi, I would like to see the ability to customize the displayed colors for user preference, or at least a dark mode and light mode for the ATC overlays. The colors shown at FS Expo (I understand these are not final) were painful to look at. Thanks for adding this feature!

Please. It would be great and helpfull having such information on charts.

hi thanks for finally getting to this awesome feature
for what you presented, it is almost what we need
what is missing :
This data you are getting from the Vatsim API…
We need to know what stands are occupied in an airport so that when we fill the route with departure, we need to look in the vatsim map to see the occupied stands so we won’t select them when we start flying.
from what we saw in the preview, we can see the airplanes standing but it is very hard to understand what is the stand number of the airplane standing
everything else is more than enough
tnx for great work !!!

That is indeed one useful feature of vatsim-radar:

Notice how occupied stands are marked red vs. the available ones in green.

Tim

Superb work and news, thank you :grinning:

Absolutely awesome we now have Vatsim integration!!

Sorry if this has already been answered elsewhere and I missed it but is there a rough ETA for this to be available also via the in-game panel in MSFS?

Reason for my interest is I’m doing all my flying in VR where it would be truly awesome not having to take the headset off to find out what ATC are online and what other traffic is nearby etc.

Unfortunately, there is no ETA for that one. It will likely have severe performance implications, but we will experiment to see what’s possible!

Are no good tools available to bring external apps inside the VR environment?

Kind Regards,
Malte

This feature has now been released in open beta!

Please report your feedback here:

Fantastic and helpful. It’s working very good. And the option to Enable/Disable is great too. Until now, I can’t complain of anything. Thanks, guys.

I know there are different apps you can use to bring things into VR like you suggest. Tried some in the past but these days I most often use a button I have on my Varjo Aero headset which will allow me to temporary switch to the desktop but still inside the headset.

This works OK and good not having to take the headset off. Still, it would be really nice being able to have this great “visibility” of both ATC and traffic around you directly on the map.

Let’s see what you might be able to come up with :slightly_smiling_face:
