Charts requires sign-in after sleep

FWIW, this would be marginally less annoying if the browser remembered my login so I didn’t have to enter password each time.

It does remember your login. The thing is, when a signout like the one I described happens, you are fully signed out. Not just signed out of charts, your account is signed out.

I understand (and agree with the fact) that this is annoying. The reason why this is happening is because generally, when you sign out of an application, you probably want to sign back in again - sometimes with a different account! If we would not fully sign you out, you would never get the chance to switch accounts.

As mentioned already, we will look into this and see what we can do to improve the situation! Just wanted to shed some light on the issue.

Malte

For the past month or so, Simlink will not stay signed in. I’ve had it stopped signing in because after 15-30 minutes, it tells me I need to sign in again. All my friends who I fly with have the same issue about constantly having to sign-in… Everything is up-to-date and even every couple of days, I have to sign-in to Simbrief on my PC and Navigraph Charts on my iPad.

This is driving me insane. What’s going on?

Yeah, this problem is really frustrating and as mentioned before, Navirgaph’s various utilities are still the only applications on my PC that can’t seem to keep me signed in for a reasonable length of time.

Now, here’s a temporary workaround for those of you sleeping your PC. This is not a solution and is far from ideal but it does work. Untick the following:

Hi all,

We are working actively on this issue and will return here when we have some progress to share. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Stephen

Just a note that the above “trick” is no longer working for me. I did manage to stay signed in for a few days once though, so I thought I might be good with that.

Hi,

We have developed a potential fix and will release it when testing is done, hopefully later this week.

Stephen

Charts updated to a new version yesterday (8.26.0 build 4957778303). This morning after waking my computer it was signed out again.

A failed request isn’t a good enough reason to force signout IMO. You should only do that after a successful request that returns a negative result. I.e. the server actually tells the client the credentials are bad.

Thank you for the report. We’ll have another look at this.

This issue is now even worse than it’s ever been. I used to be able to sleep my PC from time to time and have it not sign me out but SimLink is ALWAYS signed out now, no matter what, and as of the last week or two, every time I get kicked I have to quit the Charts app and re-open it to get Charts back online—it will not refresh with my credentials after signing in via my browser.

I do truly appreciate the new features and have loads of respect for the overall effort of the Navigraph team—it’s a wonderfully designed tool and a real treat for the eyes with it’s world class UX/UI design. And yet, this problem is perfect example of a dead end user experience. I had to stop on a taxiway and tell ATC to wait on me yesterday because Navigraph had again signed me out for some reason. There has got to be a way to deal with this. This is the only APP installed on my PC that has this issue and this has been a problem for well past a year now.

Hi,

Please check the below steps to fix the issue.

  1. Please ensure that you install the Navigraph Charts and Simlink application, which is the latest one. Or you can download and install it from here.
  2. Check your system OS time is auto sync with the internet.
  3. If you are using a Proxy or VPN, please disable it and check it again.
  4. Make sure the Navigraph application is not blocked by any security or antivirus application.
  5. For the Simlink application, please check this.

Please feel free to let us know the issue status.

Thanks for the reply.

  1. I have the most recent versions of both.
  2. It is set to sync.
  3. I only recently started using a VPN regularly and this problem precedes that by many many months, and again, I only have an issue with Navigraph apps signing me out, but I’ll try disabling for the next day or two.
  4. No blocks set up and I have only the default Windows security software installed, so no third party security apps.
  5. Done. There was no [proxy] info in the .settings file. I cleared out the Navigraph folder as instructed also.

Hi,

Thank you for your check result.

Please check after disabling VPN and let us know.

No difference without the VPN, sleeping my PC still always signs me out of SimLink and does not sign me back in.

My position will also no longer show in Charts, after signing in to SimLink, unless I relaunch the Charts app. I just keep getting the following error:

Hi! I just wanted to jump in on this… I have also been having this issue with Charts for at least the last month or so. After a system sleep, Charts will sign me out. However, I can sometimes/often times get it to log me back in just by closing Charts and reopening it. So, it is remembering my account and keeping the login session alive somewhere, it just seems to “forget” that I was logged in.

I got a new MSI motherboard and this problem went away. In case this helps, I was using an Intel Gigabyte with a 10850 prior.

I have been having this issue on my Mac with Charts Desktop for months, and it is so annoying. My sim is running on my Windows computer, so this is not a Simlink issue for me. The Charts app requires sign-in after every sleep. I am on the latest version, and it has been an issue for the past several versions.

We are working on a couple of improvements that should help this situation. They will hopefully be included in the next update!

I fully support that. I have just joined the subscription, and several times per day i need to re-sign. This is especially painfully in VR where you have to remove your headset, then type the code etc…
