Step Climbs/Descends on IFPS Validation not taken into gnerated Flightplan

Hi,

when using the Route Calculator to find a Route and on IFPS Validation the ATC Flightplan in the Popup shows a Step Descend at a specific waypoint (which is great!), but when hitting “Generate Flightplan” in Simbrief its missing (its already missing before as its not visible in the Route Box above)

See

This happens if Simbrief calculates that your aircraft will already be below the step descent altitude (here FL310) at the waypoint where it’s supposed to begin.

As I understand it, the screens before the briefing is generated use a simpler (and somewhat less accurate) way to calculate the vertical profile which is why it expects the aircraft to be higher at that point.

Tim

Hi,

Tim is correct. Basically when actually generating the flight plan, you will already be in descent prior to TUSTO, so the step down no longer applies.

The IFPS Validation pop-up window on the Flight Options page (before you generate) is a less accurate preview, and doesn’t consider the climb/descent portions as accurately. So sometimes it will show some extra steps.

Notice that Eurocontrol’s IFPUV Validator also considers the aircraft’s estimated top of descent, so it still returns no errors, even for the FPL without the step.

Best regards,
