Unexpected Step down/descent

OMAA- YSSY is a 13hr flight. Steps are normal but Simbrief planned for FL330 in my inibuilds A35K with a step down after a few hundred miles to FL310 for the next few thousand miles.

The aircraft couldn’t climb past FL310 initially. I can’t find any reason for the step down. In real life acft on this route regularly start at FL310

Any ideas?

Hi, out of curiosity, where did you get your route from?

The route you planned included custom step climbs already in it. SimBrief respects those when you include them in the route:

DCT KANIP N318 TOLDA P570 EMURU M300 LOTAV/M083F310 M300 VASTU P895 BIKOK/N0500F310 M641 ADLIG/N0495F330 M641 DOGAR DCT DAOVO DCT PIBED DCT 1000S09530E 1400S09930E/N0491F350 17S103E 21S109E DCT ATLOD DCT 24S115E 26S120E 27S123E 28S126E/N0485F370 30S131E DCT RUSAD DCT TEGEX DCT VENEL DCT BORLI H205 CULIN Y59 RIVET DCT

Basically, up until the first custom step climb at LOTAV, SimBrief selected an altitude automatically (FL330 in this case at your planned weight). However, after LOTAV, it began following your custom altitudes for the remainder of the route.

If you prefer SimBrief to automatically calculate all step climbs, you will need to remove them from your route when pasting into SimBrief.

If you instead want to force SimBrief to stay at FL310 up until your first custom step climb, enter “31000” into the “Altitude” parameter.

Best regards,
