No Simlink connecting

Unable to connect simlink to flight simulator even though simlink is running

Can anybody help

Bill Damie

Hello,

Please review the following points:

  1. Which flight simulator are you using?
  2. If you are using a simulator other than MSFS, please reinstall the Simlink plugins.
  3. Ensure you have a valid Navigraph user login in the Simlink application.
  4. Check that Simlink is not being blocked from accessing the network.
  5. If you are using a VPN or proxy, please disable it.
  6. Done!

After checking the above points, please let us know the status of the issue.

Thank you!

Have checked all, still getting error message photo attached

HI,

Please ensure that you are logged in with the same Navigraph user in both applications (Simlink and Navigraph Charts).

From the screenshot, it appears that Simlink is functioning correctly, but you did not observe the moving map in the charts. Therefore, I believe that the charts application is using a different user.

Kindly inform us after your verification.

Thank you!

Have checked both simlink and navigraph charts and both are under " AviationTurbine701 " checked flight simulator again and the pressing the little white to follow still gives me the same error message " could not connect to simulator, simlink needs to be running. Read more about simlink here. "

If you click on HERE, nothing happens, no information

Can you help

Thanks

A post was merged into an existing topic: No SimLink for Android

Hello,

When using Simlink with MSFS 2020 or 2024, there is no need to install any additional Simlink plugins, as Simlink will automatically detect and connect with MSFS.

To better understand the issue you’re currently facing, please review the following points:

  1. Ensure that the Simlink application is logged in with a valid Navigraph user account.
  2. During your flight, check if Simlink is receiving location data by looking at the Simlink Status window.
  3. Confirm that Simlink is installed on the same system where MSFS is installed.
  4. Make sure the Simlink application is running before you start your flight in MSFS.
  5. Remove any files named NavigraphSimlink from the MSFS community folder.
  6. Done! :slightly_smiling_face:

If you continue to experience issues with the communication between MSFS and Simlink, please let us know.

Thank you!

Still having the same old problem " could not connect to simulator, simlink needs to be running. Read more about simlink here.

What do you mean by question 3, installed on the same system?

Hello,

For Point #3, the SimLink application must be installed and run on the same system where MSFS is installed. Could you please send us a screenshot of SimLink while you start your MSFS flight?

Thank you.

I have followed the above instructions. one question that I have is in instruction item 3, similnk is installed example c: drive. Does simlink need to be the same folder.
Also, simlink works in the charts moving map but not in the game panel.

Hello,

Simlink does not need to be in the same folder as MSFS; it just requires the same system.

If you are able to use the Moving Map functionality in the Web/Desktop Charts client, it should also work in the Charts In-Game Panel in MSFS. Please ensure that you are logged in with the same user account in the Charts In-Game Panel.

Thank you.

Hello,

I would like to clarify some details regarding the issue you are experiencing:

  1. The Simlink application must be installed on the same computer where Flight Simulator is installed.
  2. When you start a flight in Flight Simulator and have the Simlink application running, you should be able to see the moving map functionality in the Navigraph Charts application.
  3. If you can see the moving map in the Navigraph Charts web or desktop application but do not see it in the Charts Panel in MSFS, please reinstall the Charts Panel add-on in MSFS using Navigraph Hub.

If you have any further questions or issues, please feel free to reach out.

Thank you!
