Navigraph Hub → MSFS 2024 / Install Issue

MSFS 2024 is detected ‘Installed in PACKAGES’; InstalledPackagesPath is correct and pointed to the parent Packages; folder names are Community, Community2024, Official2020, Official2024, StreamedPackages; permissions OK; Hub fully reinstalled; still get ‘cannot extract files / destination file does not exist’ for MSFS 2024 panel/EFB/avionics.

Hi…,

Please

  • Run, then exit MSFS 2024.
  • Download, install, and run latest Navigraph Hub. Exit Hub
  • Post the main.log file that you find at %appdata%/navigraph-hub/logs/main.log.

Cheers

Ian

Hi Ian: I cannot find any folder under appdata, can you send me the entire path unless there is another app data I do not know about.

Please try something like c:\Users\your username\AppData\Roaming\navigraph-hub\logs\

Cheers

Ian

It was under Roaming, I was looking in Local

main.log (295.5 KB)

Strange, all paths looks okay, Hub is extracting to the correct location. Do you already have a navigraph-avionics-g1000 folder in Community? In such case delete that one and try again. If its not that we need to look deeper into this.

Kind regards,

Markus

Hi Markus: It gives me the error message with 3 things - Avionics Plugin G1000, and G3X, plus the in game panel. There are no duplicates in the community folder.

Interesting.. so you have other packages installing correctly except from these four? Do you possibly have any anti virus programs installed that could interfere? There is a possibility that an anti-virus program for some reason puts these in quarantine while it is extracting.

Kind regards,

Markus

No, Microsoft Defender is it and no threats detected

Are you going to look into this? I really would like the in game panel.

Since AV, paths, permissions, duplicates, and re-install of hub are ruled out, can you please log this as a bug for the Hub/Academy dev team and provide a ticket/issue reference

Any progress or thoughts on this issue?

Can you give me some sort of verbal reply on what the status of this is so I know if you are thinking about it or just being overlooked?

Hi…,

It is a strange behaviour. We are still investigating.

Cheers

Ian

OK, thank you very much…

Ok, quite clearly there is a drive or folder permissions here.

Is this the first time you are using Navigraph Hub with this MSFS installation? If no, have you installed, configured or updated anything that could have changed your system drive permissions? ie. Antivirus software, some system optimization/cleaning software?

For context, nothing has changed with Navigraph Hub regarding they way it installs software.

“Have you tried running Hub in administrator mode?” BINGO Ian! I run MSFS and most things in Administrator Mode, but the hub I have not and as soon as I ran it in Administrator mode, it installed all those files and now I have nothing but “REMOVE” listed. No on all that gordonoc said above. The ADMIN did the trick and I should have thought of that. Thank you for all your help, it looks good now. I will try to openMSFS and see if I get the in-game panel now, will let you know.

I ran it as Admin as you suggested, and I had all REMOVE indicating they are all installed. Ran MSFS 2024 as admin, checked for in game panel, and it is not there. I quit MSFS, ran the HUB again as ADMIN and now it is back to square 1 , so I am going to try and load the other files you gave me and I will let you know because the AVIONICS 1000 is still ok and installed, will let you know…

OK, I found the issue, I just do not know why? The files are in the community folder but the files in question have 0 bytes. I deleted all of them that have zero bytes and replaced them with the 2 you gave me the AVIONICS 1000 and the in-games panel. Then I hit INSTALL in all the other ones and they all installed except AVIONIC PLUGIN G3X, which I do not know what that is. I ran MSFS sim again and now I have the IN-GAMES PANEL, the SIM BRIEF app and the EFB installed and working. The G3X file that is in the community folder did have content (bytes) so I did not delete it, can you send me that and I will delete what is in the COMMUNITY folder and replace it with what you give me

Can you check the location of where your MSFS2024 installs packages?

Check the UserCfg.opt file

C:\Users\<YourWindowsUsername>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages

At the bottom of UserCfg.opt you will find InstalledPackagesPath which will have a path to where add-ons install.
