Hello! Welcome to our forum!

I have added some additional logging to your account. Please sign out and sign in again, then try again so that we can take a closer look at what’s happening!

You can sign out from the Navigraph Hub icon in the Windows system tray.

Kind Regards,
Malte

Hey thanks for the quick response! Yes, done.

Based on your logs, Navigraph hub is not allowed to access the files in your community folder. It is getting filesystem permission errors. I am not sure what caused this, and if it is intentional from your side. But the issue would be fixed if the permissions of the community folder changed!

It looks like you have moved your community folder to a different drive - that could be the issue. Do you feel comfortable finding it and trying some permission changes on your own?

Yeah sure thats fine. Yes, I moved my community folder to a different location. (it works for 2020 though, not sure why it doesn’t work for 2024)

I also moved my community folder for both sims, and I can’t recall having this issue. But we have had other users with permission issues after moving the folder, so it is definitely not unheard of!

Okay, you can tell me the method for changing permissions ill do it.

Please ensure that your user has the “Full control” permission enabled. It should look like this:

Okay thanks. Ill do it later when i’m free and let you know!

Hey I just tried that method it didnt work. I also went to advanced permissions and made me the owner of that folder but it didnt work. What can I try now?

Hey @HaxProductions

You have moved your Community folder into the XboxGames folder. This is a read-only folder managed by Windows/Windows Store for storing games or data relating to games. Third-party applications like Navigraph Hub is not supposed to install data into this folder as it is reserved for Microsofts own applications and systems only.

The flight simulator itself also does not expect the Community folder to be in that folder so apart from Hub not working you might also experience problems within the sim itself and 3rd party add-ons if you keep it there.

The solution to the problem is just to move the folders which MSFS2024 stores packages in (Community, Offical2020 and Official2024) to it’s own directory outside of XboxGames. Here is a video describing the process:

Kind regards,

Markus

Hello! I created a new folder as you said, and placed the packages folder there. Made sure I have all permissions for that folder. However, its still not working.
Also, the weird part is why is the navdata for 2024 installed even if it was formerly in the xboxgames folder? Also, MSFS 2020 packages are also in xboxgames, so why did they work properly and not 2024?
Anyhow I did what you said, waiting for a response

Hey again,

We do not have any new logs from you on our side, not sure why. Can you please restart Hub by Quitting from the tray icon and then starting the app again. If you did not do that after you changed the directory that might also be the problem as Hub only update the sim directories on startup and does not support moving the directories while running.

Kind regards,

Markus

Okay, I did that. You should be able to see them now I assume.

Yes, it is the same problem again. The only possible explanation for this is that MSFS2024, Packages, or Community folder has incorrect permissions as the file system gives an “Access Denied” error back to Hub when it tries to install the files.

If everything looks right on your side and you can’t get any further please send me a DM on our Discord (Navigraph) username @m4rkus and we’ll see if we can figure it out together.

Kind regards,

Markus

Okay. I sent you a DM.

Just a thought.
Make sure when you tell MSFS2024 where your community folder is, that you specify the PARENT directory that holds the Community folder, (not the actual community folder itself). The Navigraph hub will presumably use this info to access the Community folder.
(I made this mistake!)
