For 2 Full Weeks I am Having Persistent Simbrief: TIMEOUT (Server takes too long to load)

SIMBRIEF TIMEOUT
It has been two weeks back where my Simbrief keeps getting the notification popup stating that it timedout everytime I tried to perform any request on the site. It can be reproduced any time from

  1. Generating a new Flight Plan
  2. Creating a New Airframe
  3. Even when Im just trying to view/edit previous flightplans.
  4. I am also having trouble in downloading the flightplan file to my folders using the downloader

and the only way to resolve the issue is to keep refreshing the request until it finally go through.

However the MAIN issue for me is the issue where the some of my third party addons that require sim brief integrations, cannot get info from SIMBRIEF. These includes:

  1. B77W Captain Sim during Request Simbrief on MCDU stuck after pressing request
  2. A2ON FBW during Perf Init Request on MCDU stuck after pressing request
  3. PACX TFDIDesign where it should have been able to automatically download the latest simbrief flight plan and passenger info from SimBrief but instead now I have to key in the info again one by one.

My internet has no issue, Ive tried clearing the cookies of the browser and remove VPN from my PC. Im currently using Opera GX but have issues still on chrome.

Please, I need support from the Navigraph team and/or community to identify the issue so I can play the sim like normal with a fully performed SimBrief.

Thank you

Hello, it seems like a firewall/ISP issue maybe? All servers are operating normal on our end. Check those settings and let us know.
Cheers.

Hi thanks for the prompt reply. How do i check if my firewall or isp is actively blocking simbrief access? i checked my firewall and currently it is running but I dont know whether it is purposly blocking the simbrief domain

You may also want to try to re-install your browser. I just saw a user had some success with this. I would google how to check firewall settings for windows if you are using that.

ok will do this and let you know thanks

I have to say for a few nights I’ve had the same issue from an iPad (iOS up to date), and never had the problem before. The first sign of trouble comes when I import a Simbrief flight plan in to Navigraph charts, then try to view the OFP in Navigraph… and it spins, then times out. So then I go to my Mac and try to log in to Simbrief and the Dispatch page won’t load… Have had zero issue for a year, but this week, this issue has popped up a few days in a row (since the outage earlier this week…) late in the evening Eastern Standard Time.

Not worrking I am still getting the error time out from SimBrief im not even using the uninstalled opera gx anymore … checked the firewall nothing is blocking the simbrief access … please help

Same problem here,

1 Generating flightplan or just editing flightplan (using ipad pro, not using PC) got server timeout alot of times

2 My pacx (obviously on PC) became took a long time to load because it try to connect to simbrief? … Also when it does connect it is sometimes unable to pull the data from simbrief

Started abou 2-3 weeks now

Hi! Apologies for the inconvenience. We are looking into this.

Looks like it could be caused by an incident at the datacenter where SimBrief is hosted.

In order to not mix potentially unrelated issues, please see the following thread for updates:

Kind Regards,
Malte

Hi @skysail … the error picture shown in that forum does not represent my bug. Ive never seen that once …my error looks more like this

is this caused by the same issue? this one literally just happened as I am typing this reply

does you airbus airplanes (a32nx/a339 Headwind/A320Fenix) have issues in retrieving simbrief data as well in the mcdu?

Mine look exactly like this too … and i am on iPad pro safari, tried everything including clearing cache … if i can recall the issue started when the introduction of interactive map begun.

No i mainly fly with PMDG 737/739 … and all data i inputted manually … however it the PACX having difficult time to start (maybe trying to connect to simbrief, and when it does connect sometimes it cant pull the flightplan data)

So roughly my issue is same with yours

For Boeing Products (PMDG 737NG, Kuro788, 4simmers’ 789 and Asobo’s B78X) as long as the SIMBRIEF DOWNLOADER can download the simbrief .pln files automatically to the msfs appdata location … it works better than the a32nx, cause I will do the following for each products:

  1. FOR PMDG: I can directly load in game using the mcdu the plan from pmdg msfs appdata folder to the mcdu for the PMDG product
  2. FOR all the B787 Products: load the SIMBRIEF flightplan through msfs’ flightplan feature for the B787s products and it will show on the B787 MCDU after loading and in game

If it timed out and doesnt download automatically like in the picture attached (which literally just happen as I plan my flight), i have to press the keep trying on the downloader until it works then do the following above when it finally downloads.

For the simbrief features in both Asobo’s B78X AAU2 update and the CS777 product, it will not work if during the planning im getting another TIME OUT notification, and I have to restart the entire flight again if I want to make it work.

is there a way to diagnose the issue? :frowning:

Hi,

You both (blissnite and SuperAmadeus) seem to be using the same ISP. I suspect an issue between your ISP and SimBrief’s server, you might need to contact your ISP and have them troubleshoot the issue from their end.

For us, it’s not really possible to troubleshoot from our end. SimBrief cannot “see” the network between your computer and our server, it simply receives your request and then sends a response. But before it is received, or after the response is sent from our server, there might be a slow-down occurring before it reaches you.

We cannot see these slowdowns from our end, but your ISP should be able to trace the route and maybe fix the cause by routing via a different network.

Otherwise, issues such as this are normally temporary in nature. Most times they will go away on their own as network routings change or faulty components are detected/repaired.

Best regards,
