Simbrief cannot connect to server

Since last two weeks, I cannot use Simbrief website properly and Simbrief Downloader due to problem connection to server or it is too long to wait for respond. All other websites I may access normally. I have also checked the antivirus program but there is no restriction or any block of Simbrief.com, also tried to add it to exemption.



Hi, despite this issue I see you were able to generate some flight plans. Is the issue intermittent or does it sometimes work?

If you have access to a VPN or a mobile phone with a data plan, can you try using SimBrief through those methods to see if it works better?

Sometimes these issues can be caused by a faulty network between SimBrief and your ISP. This is out of our control, and would need to be investigated by your ISP. If the issue persists, I would recommend contacting them and asking them to troubleshoot the routing between simbrief.com and your IP. But if you can use a VPN or your mobile data it may also help in the mean time, since it will cause the connection to be routed elsewhere.

Same with my Simbrief, some days good most days a drag…

Me too, the most of the time problem, not same before, now is too slow and server not respond. No VPN, Disable Antivirus and Defender, not work.

Same here, since yesterday. The planner works, I can generate flights, but the downloader fails to connect to the server…

I don’t think is is a problem with my ISP (as suggested above), since on the same PC I can open SimBrief, plan a flight, save it, generate it.

Only the Downloader has trouble doing its thing. Quite annoying, and a problem that startet literally out of the blue.

I went to Windows Firewall settings and created both inbound and outbound rules for SimBriefDownloader.exe, and that seemed to have done the trick!

This solution not work for me, because in my antivrus the rules are right for use simbrief downloader, but If i Use vpn There aren’t problem to use it. I have also problem with msfs2020

The same problem appears from Austria since 7 days - timeout of the SIMBrief downloader, slow response during interactive login , flight planning and download. I checked firewall settings and 2 different providers.
I compared network data for the download of the SIM Brief Downloader via Edge and Firefox browser with no difference. And slow means that the download last for more than 30 minutes.
The tracert command showed the same timeouts for different routes after switching the provider, but i am not the network expert to do the right interpretation. Maybe the SIM Brief experts know more. See attache tracert protocol for different provider connections.

I added SimBrief related rules to my firewall, both in and outbound.
I don’t know if that was the solution, but for me, SimBrief behavior is back to normal, with super quick connects and flight plan fetches.
