Today I‘ve installed the new AIRAC cycle 2410. The Runways in Berlin were re-named from 25/07 to 24/06. I installed the new AIRAC in the Navigraph hub like always, but if I start fly from Berlin (EDDB) the Runways in the FMS have still the old names and I can‘t choose any SIDs. The same with arrival routes. How can I fix this issue? (I already delegated and re installed the new AIRAC).
We may not change the runway idents, even when we could, because we have this data—that´s part of ASOBO/MS. The problem is that the sim disables the terminal procedures when these terminal procedures can´t be assigned to the runways in the MSFS.
In other words, when you see the old runway idents (25/07) in the MSFS scenery, you cannot use the terminal procedures due to this sim limitation even when included in the current cycle.
There is no real solution for this - you can report this to ASOBO/MS so that they can change the runway idents, or you can use any 3rd party scenery that includes the correct runways. The terminal procedures for 06L/R and 24L/R are still included in your data but, as written, are not visible due to the sim limitation. I´m sorry.
There are a lot of reports here in our forum - here is one typical example:
Hey, I don’t now if I have written it wrong but my problem is the following:
Before todays morning everything worked fine.
Today came out the new AIRAC Cycle, right?
I installed it in the Navigraph Hub in my computer. But then I wanted to fly with VATSIM. Like always I was in Berlin and wanted to Take off there. I programmed everything in my MCDU like always (flying the A320 from FBW). But if I click on my departure Aurport (EDDB) and then on Departure, there are 1. the wrong runways (but I think with the new AIRAC there should be the new Runway names) and 2. if I choose one runway, there are no SIDs available. I tried a approach too, but I couldn’t choose any Approach in EDDB (no ILS, no RNAV- nothing). And of course no arrivel routes too.
But before the new AIRAC everything worked fine.
Now my two questions:
Is there a way to re-install the old AIRAC Cycle so that it work again? In the Navigraph Hub I can only download the newest one.
I have the scenerie of the EDDB bought in the MSFS Marketplace. Would it works if I‘d deinstall the scenerie and use the default one?
Hi again,
No, no. I have understood you correctly. When you look at my reference link, you will see that the report is equal to yours but at an airport in the US area.
In AIRAC 2409, the runway idents were 07LR/25LR, but with AIRAC 2410, they were changed to 06LR/24LR. That is correct because our data reflects the real world.
The main point is the scenery in the MSFS—this scenery still has the old runways (it seems the third-party scenery, too), and therefore, the MSFS can´t assign the terminal procedures (SIDs/STARs/IAPs) to the loaded scenery. That’s a sim limitation, and we can´t do anything to fix this.
You must wait until the scenery is updated by ASOBO/MS or your third-party scenery—sorry, there is no other possibility!
Cheers,
Richard
PS: sorry, forgotten - no, there is no way to revert back to an older cycle
Same issue for me here in arriving at EDDB and no STARS and the wrong runways. What I’m not understanding is why would runways directions suddenly change in either the sim or the Airac cycles ? Who did this and why ? Runways do not differ by 10 degrees on a daily basis, they stay pretty much fixed for decades, why would anyone increase them by 10 degrees? I understand that you may not have the answer to this question.
Runway designations can change over time due to the Earth’s magnetic field slowly drifting. Runways are designated by headings rounded to the nearest 10°, so if the magnetic heading changes, the runway designation may need to change.
For example runway 7 could have been 66 degrees, this would be rounded up and may have changed to 65 degrees, so rounded down would give you a new designator of runway 6.
