Chart symbols (flight plans)

Good morning all,

What is the real meaning of the yellow point indicated in the picture?is flying prohibited? Or does it indicate caution? It is not clear to me where I can consult it. Thank you very much.

Best regards.

Red point sorry, I highlighted in a yellow circle picture.
Thank you

Good morning! Thanks for posting.

The red dot, and the text IFR beside it, indicate the current flight category at the airport. This lets you know the conditions at a glance - if you are planning a VFR flight then you should probably not start from an airport with IFR conditions!

Here’s a quick chart explaining the different possible values and associated colors:

Learning Center Library Contents - FAA - FAASTeam - FAASafety.gov

Here are some more details about the differences between VFR and IFR, as well as the associated weather conditions: What Does VFR and IFR Mean in Flying / ATP Flight School

Hope this helps!

Kind Regards,
Malte

Thank so much!!!understood
