Hello. I fly almost daily using Simbrief and Navigraph.
But out of nowhere I’m now no longer able to enter the website without being timed out.
I can only access it via VPN, but thats no useable, because I’m still not able to transfer flightplans into Navigraph or the sim.
What internet service provider do you have? Our servers are running normally, and we have no other ongoing reports of other users being unable to reach the service. This indicates that the issue is between you and your ISP or possibly even for anyone with the same ISP. A further indication that this is the case is the fact that you are able to access SimBrief through a VPN.
Unfortunately, this can happen for many reasons, none of which are fixable by SimBrief. However, based on previous similar situations, the ISP should resolve the issue within a couple of days! Sometimes, they need their customers to make them aware of the problem.
Hello Malte. I’m using a provider called ‘‘YouSee’’
I’ve called them, and they’re saying they can’t see any problems on their end, and that I should contact the mangers of the website, to see if my IP is blocked. I can not enter and ues Navigraph, Simbrief and I’m also not able to connect to Vpilot. Though I’m able to use and enter every other website as usual.
Funnily enough, that is what they say in 9 out of 10 cases - and it still ends up being on their end 100% of the time!
Regardless, let’s investigate. Assuming you use Windows (advise if this is not correct), please follow these steps:
Press Win + R
Type cmd and press enter
In the window that opens, type nslookup dispatch.simbrief.com and press enter
Then type tracert dispatch.simbrief.com and press enter
Wait for the command to complete (it will likely take a few minutes) and then post a screenshot of the output here. If you would like to keep your IP hidden, feel free to redact it or send the screenshot to me in a DM (click my profile picture and then “Message”)
That’s great to hear! The internet is a fantastic thing, but it’s not always easy to understand odd cases like these… The issue could have been anywhere - your PC, your router, your ISP, or somewhere between SimBrief and your ISP. All we know is that our servers are running fine and are reachable through other ISPs.
Let me know if you continue having issues! Let’s hope that this situation is resolved!
