B777's FMC cannot be updated

I purchased B777-200 from xplane store
although I did update by FMC data manager downloading GNS430
my aircraft’s FMC was not updated

Hello! Welcome to the forum.

Are you able to verify that the latest navdata is installed correctly in the GNS430 folder? You can do so by opening the cycle_info file in that directory. Please advise as to what AIRAC version is mentioned there.

Regards,
Malte

what should I ?

Thank you for a detailed response! Looking at the screenshots that you provided, it seems like the update did complete successfully. Seeing as the 777-200 is not able to recognize the update, you might have two options:

  1. Consult the FAQ - Installing Navdata AIRAC Updates to make sure that you’re doing everything correctly. Try to install the navdata using a manual installer, found on your Navigraph account pages, under Downloads > FMS Data > FMS Data Manual Installation. Specifically, you want the next-to-last one labeled X-Plane GNS430
  2. Look for help in third party forums where other users might have the same issue with the FF 777.

Let me know if I can assist you further!

Malte

do I placed the FMC data I downloaded in GNS430 folder?
thank you

The downloaded file is to be executed by you. It will open an installer guiding you through the steps, and when done it should confirm successful installation!

Malte

thank you for reply
I tryed it

but I cannot update

Hi Durukan,
I will support Malte a little bit …

  1. Which XP11-Version do you use?
  2. Please post a screenshot where we see the content of the X-Plane 11\Custom Data\GNS430 folder
  3. Please post a screenshot of your Settings-page in the FMS Data Manager

Thank you,
Richard

PS: but we do understand it correctly, that you have downloaded the manual-installer from the webpage - is this correct?

hi Sir, thank you for reply,

xp11.50 has been installed in my pc.

XP11.50 folder

yes I download the FMC manager from Navigraph website, but I download FMC data by FMC manager. However I couldn’t get positive results, namely the problem was not solved thus I download the FMC data manually and put into GNS430, but this problem was not solved

Ok, the data are not installed correctly … a

So, one additional screenshot please:
Open the FMS Data Manager and go to the “Addon Mappings” - move the mouse over the path in the line of the B777 that you see the path after a few seconds. Please make a screenshot of this like mine:

I can´t really believe that you have installed the ZIP-file from the manual installer correctly, because when you open the ZIP-file you see an additional file with an GUID-filename and this file is missing in your screenshot.

This is the content of the ZIP-File (xplane_customdata_native_2101.zip):

All these two entries should be moved into the GNS430 folder and you see the GUID.index file is missing in your screenshot of the GNS430 folder.

Richard

Correct and now, move both entries into your GNS430 folder … and look into the GNS430 folder if you have this 2edd1319-…index file in this folder.

Stop Durukan … I guess, this is a bug in the 777. When you look on the FMC ident page, you will see, that the AIRAC cycle 2101 is installed and also the date is correct - so this is an addon issue because you have done all correct I guess.

I got the same “Navdata out of date” message, but the AIRAC is installed correctly. Check it on your FMC ident page, you will see the AIRAC 2101 is installed.

how to solve this bug
who is responsible, in this issue ?
I will check in my xp?
this is B777 - 200? alright?

Only FlightFactor can fix this … we are only providing the data but we have no influence how they will be used. Yes, I´m talking from the FlightFactor B777-200 … sorry, but as you see (I guess also on your system) - the FMC is updated with the current data but something produce this “out of date” message behind. I don´t know. I can only forward you to their forum to ask …

Cheers,
Richard

yes it was checked you are right
but this issue should be reported by you, sir because I see that you are a pretty experinced and quailified. If you report this issue the flightfactor will take you seriously
also I will report but they will snubs me
thank you for sparing time by you

Hi again Durukan,
I will also inform the FF devs, of course

The 777 checks against X-Plane’s date, not your computer’s.
So, unless you have X-Plane configured to track your computer’s real time, you must make sure that you select the current data in Date&Time when starting your flight in X-Plane.

I’m willing to bet your problem is simply that you’ve started an X-Plane flight in June, and obviously the 2101 cycle is not valid in June.

Start an X-Plane flight in February (or just check the box to track system time) and the “out of date” message will go away.

You bet right Philipp - at least here on my system. Thanks, didn´t know that this date/time shifting has any influence on the FMCs also in XP. Man lernt nie aus

Thank you very much,
