2014 Rev 1 or 2014 Rev 2?

Just noticed that the FMS Data Manager for X-Plane 11 shows that it is on “2014 rev 1”, while the Navigraph beta app for updating MSFS2020 shows “2014 rev 2”.

Has it always been this way in past cycles and I just never noticed?

Hi,
yes … revisions are depending on the addons. Means, when we figure out an issue in an specific addon, then we create/release a new revision for this addon. Therefore it´s possible that some addons has other revisions as others.

So, it´s normal  … and you missed it in the past, it looks like

Cheers,
Richard

OK, so slight turn off course to explain why I even noticed it now:

In MSFS, I noticed that the “Center” runways are missing the “C” after the runway number on some approach procedures (e.g., KORD ILS RWY9C is listed as ILS RWY9). Then, I decided to have a look at KORD approaches in X-Plane for comparison, and there are NO procedures at all for KORD.

Is Chicago cursed in the flight sim world right now? :grinning:

Ah ok … KORD is really special. When you look on the runways in the MSFS, you will see, that there are no runway 09C exists - also in XP11. But thats not a navdata issue it´s more a scenery issue and both a sim´s handle missing runway in an other way.

In MSFS2020, when a runway is missing (or a runway-ident is differ) - no STARs are selectable. We have this in our database and also still in the update but the sim suppress it due the missing runway 09C. This is a sim limitation and we can ´t do anything for this. As soon as the runway 09C is added to the scenery, you will immediately see the STARs also.

I have now also looked in XP11.5x and here the same: Runway 09C is missing

You see, no runway 09C in these lines, which are included in the default XP11.5x airport-file.
Hope that helps a little bit … KORD is really special due the amount of runways and due the regular changes in this area.

Here the effective airport diagram from KORD:

OK, that makes sense. But would it cause X-Plane to have NONE of the approach procedures?

I guess the “Procedures could not be loaded” message answers my question

Yes, it looks XP follows the same logic as in MSFS … I’m honest, I have never tried this in X-Plane. So, you never ends learning :+1::sunglasses:

Cheers
Richard
