What about updating closed Taxiways or inoperative Navaids?

Hello,

i see you update a Airport, EDDS.
After i see this, i want to ask if it is maybe possible to Update closed Taxiways or inoperative Navaid’s like VOR/NDB ?
So, if you have a closer look in the NOTAM’s , as example for EDDP

A5970/20/EDDP [TAXIWAY]
TWY A5 CLSD.
(10-SEP-2020 04:27 - 08-DEC-2020 23:59 EST. CREATED 10-SEP-2020 04:28)

or for EBBR

A3620/20/EBBR [ILS]
RWY 19 ILS NOT AVBL DUE TO MAINT. DO NOT USE
(20-DEC-2020 09:00 - 20-DEC-2020 13:00. CREATED 02-DEC-2020 09:03)

So, that the RWY 19 ILS is also in the simulator not available like in the NOTAM described
or the Scenery is updated and the TWY A5 becomes a cross because its closed??

That would be so great

Hi…,

Welcome to our new forum.

We derive our FMS Data and Charts from Jeppesen - a professional navdata provider for major airlines worldwide. The data generally takes into account real worlds NOTAMS, and Unserviceable navaids and taxiways. We have no control over this process.

Hello,
thanks for the Answer, but i think you understand me wrong a bit.

You should not control the NOTAMS.
I mean, if in the NOTAMS as example a TWY is closed, can you then update the Scenery in the SIM, so that the TWX in the SIM becomes also closed ( get these yellow crosses )
Or a better Example, if as of the NOTAMS, a VOR is under construction ( inoperable ) , can you update the VOR in the SIM , so that this is also inoperable?

Hi Matthias,

I dont see a way for Scenery to be turned on/off by navdata. If a navaid is unserviceable in real life, it shouldn’t appear in the navdata cycle update.

Hi Matthias,
additional to Ian´s answer (he was faster and I wouldn´t cancel my posting now )

No, thats not possible sorry. There are a few reasons for that. Most of the customer uses addon sceneries, some the default ones. Therefore it´s not really possible to merge our data with the customized data. The risk to make something wrong in the scenery is too high - and also, it´s technically a hugh effort to do this.

Here a clear YES - that happens not only with navaids, also with ILSs, airways, terminal procedures, … For that we must be disable the underlying data first to be sure, that you use our data only. That´s currently not the case (2013 revision 1). But we are working on a second revision and we are very close for the release. On this time, when revision 2 is out, the sim is equal to the reality.

Hope that helps,
Richard

Hello,

i am happy to hear this !!
I see one little Problem, if a Navaid is only inoperabel for, lets say 3 days, not the hole month until the next Navdata update.
Like this ILS

A3620/20/EBBR [ILS]
RWY 19 ILS NOT AVBL DUE TO MAINT. DO NOT USE
(20-DEC-2020 09:00 - 20-DEC-2020 13:00. CREATED 02-DEC-2020 09:03)

Hi again Matthias,

indeed, this is a “problem” but reality. Therefore don´t trust only the data, to read the notams is a part of the flight preparation, at least in real. But I guess, there is a timeline, when such tasks will be reflected in the data. In this case, the ILS 19 at EBBR is still available in the AIRAC 2013 - due the short period of maintenance.

Richard

I know, i am a real pilot

Thanks a lot
Matthias
