Update to cycle 2208 with FMS Data Manager stop working at “Preparing for installation… “
The problem persisted after a careful uninstall of FMS Data Manager (based on this forum recommendations) and new installation (with administrative privilege) with the last version of the software and my firewall and antivirus (Bitdefender) off.

I had already done the procedure you suggest.
However, I tried again this morning without success.
But I found the culprit.
As the process gets stuck at different stages, I suspected a problem with the network settings.
I uninstalled the latest update of iolo System Mechanic Pro and restored the default network settings.
This solved the problem.
