It must be a common issue, but I realised only yesterday that dispatch can generate FPLs that cannot be flown. An example is SBSP-SBRJ with a 737-800, which generated (using AUTO options for the payload) a FPL with a TOW way higher than the field-limited MTOW and a cruise altitude of FL 310 impossible to reach during a 30’ flight.
A real dispatch agent would never generate a FPL that cannot be flown, and Simbrief has all the performance information to find out if a FPL is possible, before giving it to the user.
Another limitation (or simply my ignorance) is that I didn’t find a way to force a cruise altitude. Even giving the desired “estimated altitude” in the Route Finder did not help.
Are these known issues, and if so, is there any workaround?
Altitude is set here:
Runway analysis is optional on Simbrief; but in case it’s enabled and available for the aircraft type, it actually would make sense if at least a warning was added to the dispatch remarks, like it does for flights where maximum usable fuel is insufficient for the flight.

Tim
