Serious malfunction after installing latest Navigraph update

Installing the latest Navigraph update completely broke both FSX and P3D, and uninstalling it wasn’t enough, I had to restore the PC to a restore point prior to installing the Navigraph update. The installation also corrupted the indexing of the C drive, which I had to recreate, to have a properly functioning PC again… I will be very careful in the future to install an update on a Navigraph that is working properly.

Hi,
Thank you very much for your report, but it´s unclear what you mean by “broken FSX and P3D.” I don´t know which add-on you have updated, nor how (FMS Data Manager or via the Manual installer). Therefore, I’d like a more “generic” answer.

Regardless of which update mechanism you use, we don´t change anything in your system. The updater only downloads the files, unpacks them in your temp folder, and copies them to the correct folder of the add-on. That´s it—there is no specific call for Windows, no task, nothing else. It’s download, unzip, copy—very simple and very basic.

We have several thousands of users who use this mechanism on every AIRAC cycle. When there is really an issue, you can be sure that you find more postings here, but there are zero—excluding yours now.

Please don´t understand me wrong, I don´t want to say, that what you have seen is not true but it´s very, very unlikly that this is due our data and/or the updates.

Cheers,
Richard

I would like to point out that I am very happy with how NavigraphSimlink and the rest work. The problem did not concern the navigation charts, whose periodic updates are perfect, it concerned the update of one of the management programs, and since I find Navigraph perfect from the first installation, I will avoid following invitations to update the management programs.
Kind regards, Bruno Manni.

All right, thank you very much for your feedback Bruno!

Cheers,
Richard
