I have been trying to load a flight plan into the FMS of the PMDG 737 and told by the FMS that the route is an " Invalid RTE file " and the airport is not in the database? Any help will be appreciated!!
Hi…,
Are we talking PMDG for MSFS ?
How did you create the rte file? Maybe upload it using upload icon.
Cheers
Ian
Sorry for the delay in answering and not being specific!! I purchased the PMDG 737 for my MSFS 2020 flight sim. Everything was working fine until a few days ago. Loading flightplans was not a problem. I use SimBrief to create my flightplans and SimBrief Downloader to download the created flightplan into MSFS 2020. I also download the SimBrief flightplan, using the SimBrief Downloader, into the PMDG Flightplan folder and the PMDG Wind Uplink into the PMDG/WX folder. It is the way I have been loading the flightplan with no problems. But now, when I request the flightplan in the FMS, I receive the message " Invalid RTE file. Not sure what to do to correct this problem?
Hi…,
As suggested please upload the rte file causing the error.
Cheers
Ian
Where do I find the upload icon?
KPDXKSEA.rte (330 Bytes)
I did not know that I could do that!! Is this what you are looking for ?
That rte loads fine into my PMDG 737 for MSFS.
Please see FAQ - Exporting SimBrief flight plans to PMDG 737 for MSFS
Are you sure you are loading this correctly into the FMC:

I will get back to you, probably tomorrow, time for bed!! I appreciate your help!!
Back again and more frustrated than ever!! I can’t even get past your second step in the FMS when I receive the message - " INVALID RTE FILE " . I used the KPDXKSEA.rte file, opened it and saw that it is a valid file. I then deleted all rte flightplans in the 737 flightplan folder and moved the KPDXKSEA.rte file into the 737 flightplans folder. Opened up MSFS with the 737 at KPDX attempted to load this flightplan and received - INVALID RTE FILE !! Could this be a Windows 10 problem or should I delete the 737 and download it again? I did not have any problems last week loading flightplans in the 737 FMS.
Make sure you correctly exporting your SimBrfief rte flightplan to the correct location as per FAQ - Exporting SimBrief flight plans to PMDG 737 for MSFS.
If so maybe a reinstall of the PMDG will fix it.
Cheers
Ian
