PMDG 777 MSFS - AIRAC update (manual workaround)

There is currently an existing issue with the navdata update for the new released PMDG 777 for MSFS. PMDG is working on this, to solve this issue as fast as they can. We will keep you informed, when it´s fixed.

In the meantime, there is a manual workaround existing:

First:
Check the current FMC status/ident page of the PMDG 777 for MSFS. The default cycle is 2404 and you should get the note: “NAV DATA OUT OF DATE”:

Second:
Close the sim - IMPORTANT!!!

Third:
Open the Navigraph Hub, scroll down to the PMDG 777 and press the blue INSTALL button to install the latest/current AIRAC cycle:

Fourth:
Close the Navigraph Hub

Fifth:
Open a windows explorer window and browse to following work-folder - depending which MSFS version you have (you can copy & paste the specific line):

if you are using the Steam-version:
%AppData%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\pmdg-aircraft-77w\work\NavData

if you are using the MSFS store version:
%localAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages\pmdg-aircraft-77w\work\NavData

Delete these three files inside the folder, so that the folder is empty:

  • cycle.json
  • cycle_info.txt
  • e_dfd_PMDG.s3db

Sixth:
When it´s done, start the sim and check the PMDG 777 FMC status/ident page again - the AIRAC cycle should now be up2date

Hope that helps to fix the issue as a temporary workaround, till PMDG has fixed the issue with the automatic-update process.

Cheers,
Richard

This has now been solved in the latest update from PMDG so that no workaround is needed anymore.

Kind regards,
