Navigraph in Career mode?

What is the best way to use Navigraph in career mode? Should I use the tablet to do it before entering the mission or after?

Why is there no seperate Navigraph option on the top menu in missions, can only access it via the pad? And the standalone Navigraph client has no “export to game” option.

I assume it works as long as the from and to is the same as the mission?

Hello! Welcome back.

Please see this topic:

As far as we can tell, the simulator does not allow us to change the flightplan when you are using career mode. We have not made any changes of our own to limit the use of our addons, so any differences seen when using career mode is intentionally made by the simulator developers!

Kind Regards,
Malte

Actually it does.

So after some testing, you can change it both before entering the game and after.
The game really doesn’t like it if you change the direction of takeoff or landing, so that needs to stay the same.

What I really would like is if I could “export the flightplan to game” in the standalone windows installed version, because using Navigraph in-game in mission mode is very limiting in terms of just its size when its forced to be used in the in-game pad.

Hopefully Asobo will have made some changes regarding this for career mode for update 2.

That is good news! Sounds somewhat reasonable.

This is not possible, it is not a Navigraph limitation but a simulator limitation.

You can, however, use this flow:

  1. Plan the flight in the desktop app
  2. Once done, open the in-game panel or the EFB app (whatever is available in career mode)
  3. Load the flight you just planned
  4. Export it to the simulator
  5. Keep using the desktop app and close the in-game version

This way, you have transferred the flightplan from the desktop app to the simulator through our servers! Would this help in your scenario?

Kind Regards,
Malte

Yes its just a royal pain in the butt to save it to file for every flight.

The in-game pad navigraph can export to game, and you have a plugin installed in the game, so why can the standalone client not just connect to your plugin and do the same as the pad version of navigraph?

I am not following. You do not need to do that?

  1. Create flight in the desktop (external) app
  2. When done and ready to load the flight, switch to the simulator
  3. Open the EFB app
  4. Open the flight you just created (it should show up as the latest edited flight in the list)
  5. Switch to the export tab and export the flight to the simulator

The plugin does not have the ability to run a server. There is currently no communication path between the external app and the plugin. Even if we built a server into the desktop application, you would still need to open the EFB app for the connection to be made.

Do I have to unload the flight in the external app before it shows up in the in-game app?

Ah its in the second spot, not the first, okay then, this works. Thank you!

That’s good to hear! The list should be sorted according to which flight was last edited. Anything else would be a bug, so please let us know if that is not the case!
