MSFS SU 3 beta incompatibility

hoping this is correct forum - installed msfs 2024 SU3 beta - get CTD after loading any aircraft. Clean Community works fine - through process of elimination I found that, on my system, if this file (navigraph-nav-jepp) is present - CTD. Alone or with other items - if it’s there - CTD.

MSFS 2024 1.0.5.1 (SU 3 beta)
Airac 2505 r1

This is just FYI -

Thanx,

Vic Baron

no other addons

Can’t confirm. I have used Navigraph with SU3 today without any issues.

Understood. Is that specific file in your community folder?

Hi Vic,

Yes, this is one of the navdata files. I have also tried it, and I can’t reproduce the CTD, as Frank wrote. I have all our packages installed in SU3 beta too - don’t see any CTD.

There can be many reasons for CTDs, but after a first check (SU3 beta is very new), I don’t see any issue with the data.

Cheers
Richard

P.S.: Vic, I have moved your posting into the correct category

O, that’s good news. Means it’s specific to my system. What I didn’t try was to use the hub to remove and reinstall the files. i’ll give that a try else start digging into anything else running in bg. Thanx!

Hi again, Vic,
Yes, it seems that this is isolated on your system, but as I wrote before, SU3 beta is fresh and very new, so, excluding this first test, I haven´t tested anything else. We start with the beta test at the end of next week, but I expect no fundamental changes.

Cheers,
Richard

Yes, it has me scratching my head. I remove everything from community, install the airac from the hub which puts the nav base and jepp files in. No other addons installed. Eset AV excludes active - CTD everytime within 15 seconds from a/c load. Probably should opt out of the beta until next drop and see what happens. If I do not have the new airac installed, everything works fine. Is there a way to force install of older airac?

Just as a fyi, I have several people on Avsim reporting the same issue. I jusy uninstalled the latest airac and all is good.

Thanks for the update, Vic. As I wrote before, we will start our detailed testing in the next couple of days and, when necessary, we will release a new revision.

Be aware:
When changes are needed, they depend on whether they are upwardly compatible with SU2. When not, we must wait until SU3 is released.

Cheers
Richard

I completely understand Richard - it’s a beta and things move along. Just thought I’d give you a headsup in case.

I’m one of the people who had tracked the crashes as having something to do with Navigraph, but had not yet reached the stage of eliminating hub applications one by one.

Before I got over my laziness in doing so, word began spreading that deleting the Airac might solve the issue, and sure enough, that stopped my crashes.

Hi again,
CTDs can have many reasons, not only one package. We have many users on SU3 beta with no CTDs, and I’m one of them. But again, as I have written, SU3 beta is a few days “young,” and we will start our detailed tests next week.

Also, it´s a beta version, and the official release notes have no indicator that something was changed in the navdata part. We start our tests at the end of this week or the beginning of next week.

I appreciate your understanding.
Richard
