Loading Navigation Data Failed

Hi

My set-up is as follows:

  • Windows 11
  • X-Plane 11
  • AIRAC cycle 2511

To make matters very simple, I recently upgraded to Windows 11 with a completely clean install (i. e. brand new hard disk) and was able to successfully run X-Plane 11 just before I installed FMS Data Manager v 1.8.14.0130. Having installed FMS Data Manager, it then successfully identified the sole add-on I have as being X-Plane 11 itself, and without problem downloaded the AIRAC cycle 2511, showing green to indicate everything was good. However, when I started X-Plane, the simulator gave the following message:

  • BE ADVISED - Loading navigation data failed: No procedures found in ‘CIFP’ folder. Please check the CIFP folder for case-sensitivity. If the folder does not contain uppercase files with lowercase extensions, report this problem your Navdata provider. Please note that X-Plane 11 is not compatible with navdata files made for X-Plane 10.

I then dismiss this message, but X-Plane simply then closes and will not start.

Following the advice above, I have looked in the CIFP folder at path ‘desktop→X-Plane 11→Custom Data→CIFP’, and all filles within have uppercase file names and a lower case extension, so in theory all seems well.

I then uninstalled FMS Data Manager using the proper Windows uninstall method, but despite doing this, X-Plane again gave the message above, presumably because the same files downloaded by FMS Data Manager remained in the directory above.

I then downloaded FMS Data Manager again fresh from your website and installed it, again downloading AIRAC cycle 2511. However, the above problem when trying to start X-Plane once again occurred. I now have the unfortunate situation of X-Plane now not starting at all, even when FMS Data Manager is uninstalled.

As indicated above, this situation is puzzling, as my PC set-up is fantastically simple for the reason that Windows 11 and X-Plane have only been installed earlier this week, and until I this evening downloaded FMS Data Manager and installed AIRAC cycle 2511, X-Plane was working fine.

I’m aware that there is a way to manually install AIRAC cycles, but I am puzzled as to why I would need to do this, as my assumption is that this is the whole point of FMS Data Manager, which is in theory far better at installing the AIRAC data than I would be.

As additional information, I had previously before my PC was rebuilt, run X-Plane 11 and FMS Data Manager without problems for many AIRAC cycles, with the only difference being that at that point I was running Windows 10. I therefore am struggling to see what is wrong here.

Would you be able to advise me as to how I can resolve this issue?

Thanks for your time.

Jason

I have exactly the same problem with x-Plane 11.55 and the current AIRAC 2511.

I can only get x-Plane to run by deleting the Custom Data files, but it’s not what I want to do!

I have tried a manual install but this doesn’t work either.

All the files appear to be in the correct location, and FMS Data Manager seems to be working as it should.

Look forward to hearing the solution.

Thanks.

I have the same problem. My planes are going wild with the latest AIRAC!

Toliss A321:

  • Cant calculate extra time with more fuel
  • Wrong ILS freq and course. Example: LEAL - ILS RW10-Y real freq 110.30 crs 100 on the FMS the freq is 110.70 crs 99
  • The plane is going off the runway when takeoff
  • LOC or APPR modes can not be engaged. On the RAD NAV page freq, crs, slope not filled automatically

FF 767 Extended:

  • The freq and crs are right but LOC or APP modes can not be engaged

I restored the previous cycle 2510 from the backup and flown a test flight with the A321 LEAL/LEAL and landed with autoland. Working perfectly now.
