Insert waypoint after STAR and before approach

I wanted to add a waypoint between the end of the STAR and the beginning of the ILS approach but the dialogue box does not have an option to do this. None of the points where I can choose to put the wayppoint are one of the ones I want. Looks like they are allowed only on the route, but not the STAR or Approach waypoints.

How can this be achieved?

Greg,

This is not possible, there can’t be any waypoints between the STAR and approach. The dashed purple leg means “vectors” where ATC would guide you on how to transition from the STAR to the approach.

Understood, I can add pseudo waypoints via the 737 FMC . Thanks,
