Hello, I have a CHARTS issue.
I have been using charts since they were first available. An awesome program that has run flawlessly until now. I am running FSX. The aircraft I am using is PMDG B737-800. I use an iPad8 as my charts EFB and the OS is current 18.3.1. The flight plan is imported from SimBrief.
When I start the charts app a variety of unexpected things happen, various scenarios can occur:
- A normal map i.e. VFR, IFR, Map, world, etc. but the magenta line is not there, the AC symbol is there and the charts for the flight are pinned and available and moving map.
- A screwed-up map with some unidentifiable earth (see attached, AC symbol is taxiing at KSBA Santa Barbara CA) with no pinned charts and no ability to change map format i.e., VFR, IFR, Map, world, etc. Charts are not pinned and unavailable.
- A completely white or green background with no features, no charts pinned and when “Weather” is selected no features are present i.e. Jet Stream, wind barbs, etc.
- Today, Feb 18 I started up a new flight without reloading the charts app, and the following occurred:
- IFR High and IF Low maps both can up blank with no nav data, just blank white maps.
- The FAA sectionals, FAA IFR High and FAA IFR Low were normal
- VFR was also normal
- However, the planned route downloaded from Sim Brief was not depicted on any of the charts or route maps. Even though I was able to produce all of the charts on screen and the aircraft symbol was present and moved on moving map.
- I then reloaded the Charts App and this time there was no change, no improvement, the App still failed.
In the past I could delete the app and reload it. And when I did everything is normal and functioning.
But when I access the charts app for a new flight these issues start all over again and which issue crops up is random. No rhyme or reason.
