How do I start Simlink, it says it is not running
Please advise Operating System, Flight Simulator and aircraft.
Please download and install Simlink using the default prompts.
This should install Simlink, so that is loaded when you start the Flightsim. If not, run Navigraph Simlink from the Programs menu depending on Operating System. In System Tray (for windows), click on Simlink icon to bring up Navigraph Simlink Status.
In Settings, we suggest you select Start Simlink on system startup.

Hi Ian
When I open simlink and go on STATUS then SETTINGS I have one line for XP11, one line for XP12, one line for XP10 etc… but I have several XP11 installations, is it ok if in the first line for XP11 I just select one of the XP11 installations that I have and not the others?
Thanks!
Hi,
If you prefer not to install Simlink Plugins on other versions of XP, you can simply uninstall the Simlink Plugins from those versions. This will prevent Simlink from connecting to any versions that do not have the plugins installed.
Please let us know if you have any questions.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
My question was that I have several XP11 installations but in simlink/plugin/settings (see screen shot above) I have only one field to enter an XP11 installation, I can only enter one link in the line XP11 and not the other links of my other XP11 installations (the second line is XP12…). Will Simlink Plugin still be active normally in my other XP11 installations although they can not be entered in your setting table above (since there is only one line for XP11 that can not be duplicated…)
Hi,
If I understand correctly, you have multiple installations of X-Plane 11 (XP11) and you would like to install the Simlink plugins for each version, right?
To install the Simlink plugins, In X-Plane 11 line you’ll need to manually select the installation path for each version of XP11 and go through the Plugins installation process. You will need to repeat this for every installed version.
It’s important to note that you will have to perform this manual installation each time there is a Simlink update. If you miss any updates for a particular XP11 version, that version may not function properly.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi,
Actually I never did this, I only entered the link of one of my installations and Avitab still worked with Navigraph maps on the other installations. How is this possible?
You are talking about a SIMLINK plugin, I actually have no SIMLINK plugin in none of my XP11 installations… Where is this plugin located? When I do SEARCH SIMLINK on my XP11 installation folder I get zero result. But I am getting all the charts in AVITAB from Navigraph… so I am confused now, do I actually have SIMLINK or not? Is the purpose of SIMLINK not to enable to get the Navigraph charts in Avitab??
And if you say that the link of each installation (on same computer and disk) needs to be entered in this setting mask and installed separately would it not be possible to set up this page so that we can enter several links for xp11 as well as xp12. Best would be to create as many as requested in the same way you have set up your Navigraph Airrac cycle up date mask. What do you think?
Thanks
Hi…,
I think you are confused. Simlink is used to provide Moving Map functionality for Navigraph Charts.
Avitab is a different third party product used to display some Navigraph charts and has its own Moving Map functionality on Open Street Maps.

Do you mean that when I see all the planes and my plane moving in the airport charts from Navigraph in Avitab it has nothing to do with Simlink (see chart below)?
So this would mean that I can uninstall SIMLINK to have full functionalities of Navigraph charts in AVITAB?
But for what is then SIMLINK used in XPlane? I am really a bit confused now…
Actually I now uninstalled the SIMLINK app since I am using the moving maps from Navigraph within AVITAB but when I open XP I am now getting an info that I should load SIMLINK manually (see below). How can I get rid of this message? Is there a file or directory related to simlink within XP to be deleted as well?
Thanks!
OK I found the file to be deleted in Plugin:
NavigraphSimlink_64
Thanks, I think all clear now!
