Hello,
SimBrief Downloader is working again. Thank you for fixing this problem.
Hi,
Thanks for sharing.
At my end it´s still an issue to connect.
(Location Frankfurt aM Germany)
I just ran a test and it worked on my end.
Since we do not have a confirmation from SimBrief / Navigraph I think we can’t call this solved.
Anyway I am looking forward for a (technical) explaination what caused this outage.
Kind regards
Still doesn’t work for me
Here the same problem my NET without problems Speed 1GB

Same issue for me; I hope this can be fixed shortly
works like a charm again!
Still an issue here at my end (Frankfurt aM Germany)
Whole Simbrief site unavailable here in the UK. Hope it’s back soon. Keep up the great work Navigraph team!
Thanks for the reports everyone. We are still investigating and don’t know exactly what the issue is.
The root cause is that some users (but not all) are seeing slow download speeds from SimBrief right now. This in turn causes the Downloader to “time out” when it tries to download the flight plan data.
On my end I can only get it to happen to me sporadically and rarely, most of the time my download speeds to the server are fine.
The server host does mention some maintenance going on in the data center, but it’s not clear if that’s the cause. I am going to monitor it and see if it improves on its own over the next hours/days, while continuing to look for any other possible causes.
I don’t think it’s solved yet. Thanks for the info you sent above, I do not believe this is ping related, but simply a download speed issue. It’s just really strange that it’s so inconsistent, I don’t have any explanation as of yet.
I have removed the PDF document from the flight plan data that the Downloader fetches, this should significantly reduce the download size and hopefully prevent the timeout message while I keep working on a solution.
Best regards,
its working again.!
Thanks for looking into this.
The connection to the server seems to be restored at least for me here in Germany today and the flight plans (.pln and .rte) are being generated however the .pdf file is just a dummy file currently since this has been temporarily been disabled.
Is anyone else continuing to have server connections problems still?
The issue is still ongoing, although to a lesser extent than the past 2 days. I can see it in the logs so I will know when it’s resolved, and will restore the complete PDF downloads at that time.
Best regards,
I am able to retrieve downloaded pages when flight plans are requested using the tool provided by Delta Virtual Airline (deltavirtual.org).I have no idea why theirs works and yours doesn’t.
Please turn on the PDF soon, thank you.
It’s pretty ironic how one guy ran SimBrief for years and I’m not sure I EVER experienced a single problem with the site or the downloader. He sells his product to Navigraph, and now it’s not working.
Thanks for the “valuable” input … but you have forgotten to explain us, what problem you have?
Ah before I forget … the server are still the same, the provider is still the same, the guy is still the same and of course the data are still the same as before.
Cheers,
Richard
I don’t think that’s a fair statement. SimBrief has had many problems and outages over the years. The fact that this latest hiccup (a severed fibre line in the web host’s backbone network) only caused a brief Downloader outage for a subset of users, rather than a side-wide outage is proof enough that the website is still being well maintained. Just my opinion…
Best regards,
