Downloader stopped working and server seems overloaded?

Hello!
A few days ago the Downloader began being stuck in startup loading. Today I wanted to un- and reinstall it… My internet connection has a speed of 252.2 Mbps but the download for 120MB takes between 1 and 2 hours.

I noticed in general that over the last half year or so the server performance is very slow when generating flightplans, most of the time flightmaps are disabled because of traffic… I get it that more and more people are using Simbrief these days, but the server has to grow with this traffic I think.

I still love Simbrief and all other Navigraph products - Thank you!

After about an hour the download now completely stopped working… I am unable to download the Downloader now.

You tried a ping of simbrief.com and tracert, not seen any issues here in the UK at all.

Ping is normal - I have no clue how to use tracert.

The website itself works normal for me at the moment, but the download of the exe is superslow and stops entirely after half an hour or an hour…

Is there another source for the downloader?
I used this page: https://www.simbrief.com/home/index.php?page=fms-downloader

You use the tracert command in a similar way to ping which may reveal issues along the network, however probably of little use if the ping is ok, 76ms here.

Whilst the download is somewhat slow here in the UK and Austria at a min 1.5Mbs it did not stall or fail to complete.

Perhaps NG could consider hosting on their system.

Today the download worked. But now I am stuck with the original problem… The downloader is not loading. It only shows “Loading” or “Waiting” and does this forever or I get an Error that there is no connection to the server.

I now reinstalled it, excluded it from Windows Defender and tried running as Admin.
Anyone from Navigraph/Simbrief interested in this not working?

Servus Klaus,
I´m also from Austria and have no issues but I had one - the root course was the ISP, which blocked some IP addresses which results in a traffic re-routing and that was the reason why all was so slow - by the way, I have 800/70 Mbits connection - so not really slow.

This issue was identified by T-Mobile/Magenta (former UPC) and they had fixed it. Still this time, we have never seen any reports here in the forum (at least for Austrian user with this ISP).

So, the question is, which ISP do you have? Have you test your scenario via an mobile hotspot too?

Cheers,
Richard
