I know that simbrief will accept user waypoints in the “selected route” box, but what format can the user way points be in ; decimal degress or DDDMMSS or DDDMM ??
Well as far as I can tell, having tested various formats, the format is DDMMSSNDDDMMSSE, or DDDMMSSNDDDMMSSE. The eastings can have one or two leading zeros. But the northings will not accept leadind zeros or a single D digit. Not a problem round Europe but might be a problem nearer the equator.
Hi, northings support single digits and leading zeros. The issue is that you were testing them on a local flight (LFMN-LFMN) and your single-digit test waypoint (ex. 044011N0071341E) was over 2,000 nm away. Which causes it to be ignored since it’s such an excessive detour.
If you test this waypoint on a LFMN-FAOR flight for example, it should work fine.
More information on accepted route/waypoint formats are documented here.
Best regards,
Thank you for your reply which was helpful. I am still having difficulty with a leading zero for example 0434046N0071728E , this brings the error "Fix or airway “0434046N0071728E” not found. Not a problem in Europe .
Latitude goes from -90 to +90 so the leading zero is unnecessary (and as already pointed out by Derek, not supported by Simbrief).
Regards,
Tim
It’s obvious, Thanks
