Troll Airfield (ICAO: ENOE / IATA: None) Tailored Record in ARINC-424 Format

Dear @NAVDataOld,

I was able to provide you the Troll Airfield (ICAO: ENOE) in the ARINC-424 format, which Navigraph uses.

I relied on real world charts and airline documents, in order to provide Navaids with the correct coordinates and frequencies.

Anyways, if you need the charts and the airline document, in order to verify the correctness, I can send you these via PM.

The files are in the attachment, if possbile, may you add that airfield to the database and SimBrief? It has quite a lot of Navaids including RNAV Approaches etc. and is one of the best equipped airfields in Antarctica.

Various airliners like the 737 Max, the A340-300 or the IL-76TD, the A320, A319 and some business jets have already landed there before.

wpNavFIX.txt.txt (153 Bytes)
wpNavAPT.txt (148 Bytes)

Hi,
This is not the ARINC424 format sorry. It looks more like the PMDG format. Sorry for that but thanks for your work.

Not really usefully for us, sorry.

Cheers
Richard

Dear @NAVDataOld,

Do you have a sample file or something similiar, which I could use as a reference, in order to get all the required pieces of information we need?

I would really like to try it, but unfortunately the PMDG Navdata format is the only reference I have, as I couldn’t find any specific Navigraph files, which include the format, I’m looking for.

Just that I know what needs to be included and how it should look like.

Is that the correct ARINC-424 format on the picture?

Regards,

Dear @NAVDataOld ,

This time I tried to apply the format of the CFIP 18 provided by the FAA, which should be the ARINC-424 format with exactly 132 bytes per record.

I made sure that it is exactly 132 bytes long and that the format is the same, as in the CIFP by the FAA.

Hopefully this is much better than last time, when I used the PMDG Navdata format as a reference.

The file is in the attachment. Could you verify it’s correctness, please?

Regards,

ENOE_ARINC-424 Tailored Record.txt (3.2 KB)

Hi,
Not sure, what format this is but it´s not the ARINC424 format, nor any ARINC424 specification sorry … I´m also not sure, which FAA CIFP records you mean. Here an example of an airport-record:

SUSAP KSWFK6ASWF 0 118YHN41301480W074061740W014000491 1800018000C MNAR NEW YORK STEWART INTL 227441907

This is one line from FAA CIFP file, exactly 132 bytes long. You see on the end of the line the file record no and the cycle date, as in your screenshot.

The ARINC424 format is a standard format and every column contains a specific information. I can´t see any ARINC424 columns in your file sorry, nor do I understand what each column really mean. Sorry.

Cheers,
Richard

G’day @KevinAviationHD and @NAVDataOld
I am happy to have a look at any charts that can be emailed to me to see if these can be converted into ARINC 424 format manually. If the data is from official sources that’s great and should make to job easier.
Richard please let me know if this data, once completed, could be added to the dataset? I will do my best to maintain the quality from my previous tailored data work!
Regards, Martin YBLT

Hi Martin,
Of course, we would add it when complete and correct. Thanks for your offer and your support here

Cheers
Richard

PS: @stewamar thanks for your update, which you send me for a few days. Will be release with the upcoming cycle :raised_hands:

Dear @stewamar,

I will send you all official references and charts regarding navaids and the airport I have per PM.

Thank you so much for helping me out! You are my rescuer. Finally we get this highly developed antarctic airfield integrated somehow and have all the airports down there we need.

Could you potentially send me your dataset per PM, so I can discover and learn, how to do write the ARINC-424 format correctly? Unfortunately there is almost nothing in the internet, how the exact ARINC-424 format for an airport including navaids looks like.

Thank you again!

Hi,
You can buy the ARINC424 specification in the different versions here:

Latest version v22:

Without any knowledge and any documentation, you have no chance to analyze the different records

Hope that helps
Richard
Richard

Dear @NAVDataOld,

Thank you! At least we found someone with the knowledge and skills to help with the Tailored Record.

This should be much better. I gave him alle the references and documentation about the airfield we need, including procedures and charts.

Regards,

Allright, to be confirm - you found someone and you don’t need the support from Martin (@stewamar)?!

Is this correct? Because we work very close with Martin and I want to avoid additional work on his side, when you have one.

My assumption was that you take the help from Martin and you wanted to learn anything about the format structure, therefore the reference link.

Please confirm, if Martin should create the records for you or not.

Cheers
Richard

Dear @NAVDataOld,

No, that was referred to @stewamar, that we luckily found him to help me with the Tailored Record, as he is much more experienced and has a deep knowledge.

I gave him all the references he needs via PM, so he shouldn’t have issues to create it.

I’m more than happy that he is there to make the Tailored Record. I myself don’t have the skills to do it and I don’t know anyone else, so luckily we have Martin, who has a lot of experience and has already worked with you before.

Any help is extremely valuable.

Regards,
