Simbrief downloaded flight plan for X-Plane 11/12 and X-Plane 11/12 (No SID/STAR) are the same

Hello. I noticed recently that neither of the flight plans created by Simbrief that are downloaded to the X-Plane 11/12 nor the X-Plane 11/12 (No SID/STAR) contain SID/STAR data. The X-Plane 11/12 download should have that SID/STAR data included in the flightplan plan but does not.
Also, when I use Active Sky XP 12 (ASXP12) to display my Simbrief flightplan by pressing the Simbrief link button in ASXP12, the flightplan on ASXP12 lists the departure airport as the first waypoint but then the next waypoint is the TOC from the arrival airport and then the waypoints to the alternate airport, then the SID waypoints for the departure airport, then the waypoints leading to the arrival airport including the proper STAR for the arrival airport, then the alternate airport as the final waypoint.

There are routing lines all over the place on the map!

So basically when you map the flight plan, you go in a straight line from the departure airport to the TOC leading from the arrival airport to the alternate airport (without listing the Arrival airport as a waypoint), then a straight line back to the first waypoint on the departure SID, then the normal flight path through the departure SID, the normal route, STAR Arrival, then Arrival Airport, then the last waypoint is the Alternate airport.

That’s if you press the Simbrief menu button in the ASXP12 flight plan menu.
If you manually load the Simbrief generated download, it displays the deapture airport, the normal route, and the arrival airport, but without any SID/STAR info.

Hi, X-Plane 11/12 files do not contain individual SID/STAR waypoints. They include the SID/STAR idents and transitions only. From what I can see, SimBrief is exporting this correctly, but it’s possible some add-ons simply might not read the SID/STAR idents. In the real-world, SID/STARs and approaches are not normally uplinked into the FMS, so many add-ons don’t do it either.

The Active Sky issue is a known bug reported on their forums. They have a test build that fixes the issue for the MSFS version, so likely they will fix the ASXP version as well at some point.

Best regards,

Thank you for your reply. I contacted Active Sky as well because one version ago their program was giving me correct routing including all of the SID/STAR waypoints off of the Simbrief download and now it is not.

I did notice a change in your X-Plane 11/12 download. It is now identical to the X-Plane 11/12 (No SID/STAR) download. It did have the SID/STAR routing info. Now it doesn’t.

You might want to compare the two downloads.

Thanks!

Jon Bullock

Works for me. How did you determine that the SID/STAR information is missing?

Tim

Tim,

My apologies. Your downloads are correct. Thank you for looking in to that. The issue is as you stated, an Acive Sky XP 12 issue.

Thanks again.

Jon
