PMDG NAV DATA error P3D

I recently made a fresh new install of P3D V4.5 as well as all of my PMDG addons onto new SSD drive. I noticed however that all of my PMDG products are not functioning as it should be with regards to FMS. Every time I try to fly and use the FMS - the data does not work. What I mean by does not work means that I’m unable to select any approaches or departures or arrivals. FMS freezes and renders completely unusable. I have updated to latest cycle 2509 via FMS data manager and I’m not too sure what is going on. I had never encountered such problem before. I have tried to completely remove all PMDG products and fresh reinstall but the problem still persists.

Before you ask yes I have deleted the ARPT_RWY_dat file but the problem keeps on returning and it is impractical to delete this file every time. I don’t think this has anything to do with aircraft itself but rather error with nav data.

Any feedback please on the above?

Hi,
Can you confirm that the FMC works with the default data after you have installed the PMDG?

I have tried reproducing it with P3Dv4 and v5, but can’t with the current cycle.

Therefore, can you install the PMDG again and try it again BEFORE you update the data?!

By the way, how have you updated the data? Manual installer or via the FMS Data Manager?

Also, which add-on version of your PMDGs have you installed?

Cheers
Richard

Hello,

I actually never tried with default nav data as immediately after reinstalling - I installed the airac update.

I have reinstalled PMDG addons again and reinstalled airac this time using manual installer and it seems to have resolved this issue as I tried multiple flights and every thing seems to be working. I’ll keep an eye on it and if it happens again I’ll respond to this thread.

Previously I used FMS data manager to update the AIRACs but it seems something was corrupting nav data files. Installing with manual installer seems to have worked somehow.

I’m using NGXU with all expansions/ 777 with expansions/ 747 with expansions, all on latest version available for P3D.

Thanks for the feedback. It is good that it has been solved.

Enjoy your Sunday,
Richard
