Placeholder with charts not saved with Flight

Hi All,

Hopefully somebody can help me with the following.

Using charts version 7.5.0 for windows desktop. Normally with loading a flight, I setup the charts (Pinned) that I need in the bottom bar which is then normally saved. But now, when I Ioad it again if I want to fly the route again, the bottom bar is empty. If I load a previous flights that is imported before the update the bar with items is loaded.

Also when I try to save the Flight if I have edit it, it empties the bottom bar again.

Don’t know if this is a user error or a glitch in the application.

Thanks

Hi…,

Using Charts Desktop 7.5.0, I just created flight plans YSSY-YSCB and YSCB-YSSY and pinned SID/STAR/APPR to both. When I open the flight plans the pinned charts are there. So I don’t believe this is a Navigraph server issue, and is likely an issue at your end.

Check you have restarted your computer and problem still exists.

If so, I suggest you start from scratch with latest Charts and Simlink (assuming you have and want Simlink :slightly_smiling_face:) . Please disable any Antivirus and Firewall.

In Simlink Plugin Settings uninstall Simlink plugin from your FS , then completely uninstall Simlink and Charts using Windows Programs and Features exactly as under .

If they exist delete directories
c:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Navigraph and c:\Program Files\Navigraph

Then download and install latest Simlink and Charts Desktop using the default prompted locations.

You should be advised of Simlink being installed into your FS (for non MSFS) .

Restart computer.

Please create a flight plan in Charts with pinned charts. Close and restart Charts. Do the pinned charts now show?

Please let us know how you get on.

Cheers
Ian

Thanks Ian,

I think it is indeed my pc because on my ipad it is working correcly so it’s not a Cloud problem (LOL).

Will try your suggestions and let you know!

Hi Ian,

Did al the jobs and reinstall. Same problem exists.

But I did a test to see the difference in behavior.

Situation 1: (NG1 Screenshot)

  • Load a new SimBrief flight
  • Setup all tabs (airport, RWY, SID, STAR, RWY, airport)
  • Unload Flight
  • Close Program
  • Start Program
  • Reload flight

No tabs are loaded.

Situation 2: (NG2 Screenshot)

  • Create new flight by hand
  • Setup all tabs (airport, RWY, SID, STAR, RWY, airport)
  • Unload Flight
  • Close Program
  • Start Program
  • Reload flight

All previous tabs are loaded.

I have tested both situations on Navigraph Desktop on my Macbook, and the same problem appear.

Regards,

Andre

@Ian Any update on this issue?

Hi Andre,

Whether the flightplan is loaded from SimBrief or created by hand doesn’t affect whether pinned charts are saved with the flight plan.

Check you are in fact loading the flight plan which has the pinned items. It is easy to have multiple flights between the same airport pairs.

Cheers
Ian

Indeed makes no difference

Checked, this is a flight wich has pinned items…

Andre,

I am unable to reproduce this. I have loaded multiple flights from Simbrief and pinned many charts, and followed your exact procedure with unloading flight and restarting app. In all cases all the pinned items show up perfectly when loading the flight again. Maybe you could do some more testing on your side as we are not seeing this behavior.

Regards,

Stephen

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for the response!

Yes it is a little bit strange as pinned tabs for the same flight show up in the NG ipad app.

I will do some more testing and see if I can narrow down the problem.

Will keep you posted.
