Using the iniBuilds OMDB scenery, there are a few reports, that the glideslope on runway 30L is misplaced:
On Discord, they mentioned, that they now added a custom ILS, which fixes the GS using the default navdata, but when using Navigraph, it still gets overridden with a faulty GS:
Is there anything you can do on your side to have a more accurate glideslope?
Following up on this. What is the proposed solution?
Simply put, using the latest Navigraph AIRAC in combination with the latest inibuilds OMDB, the actual TCH over RW30L is 100-110ft AGL instead of the charted 51ft AGL.
Either the Navigraph glidescope is positioned incorrectly, or the inibuilds runway is positioned incorrectly.
This is a very common issue at many addon airports. It would be great to understand where things are going wrong from a development standpoint
My personal assumption is not always incorrect elevations, I assume it´s the underlying DEM model of the MSFS. But I´m not a scenery designer and I haven´t enough knowledge about it. What we can do (and thats what we do now together with Inibuilds at the moment) is to offer the real-world data from our database what we use. Inibuilds will now compare the data and will look, if they find any differences/deltas here.
By the way, we had offered the data many times for the 3rd party scenery devs but Inibuilds is really the first one, which are willing to look deeper into it with our assistance. Again, not sure if this is always an elevation issue - I assume more a layout issue in the MSFS data (as a reference for my assumption is the KLAS issue with the glideslope too - which is too low but comparing with the real-world data it´s ok).
So, please give Inibuilds and also us a little bit of time, possible we find the culprit and we find a generic solution for that.
