Since the cycle 2203 I have moved X-Plane 11 to an external hard drive because of storage limitations. I downloaded 2204 but it is not taking effect, probably because the path is wrong. I tried to fix it by uninstalling and reinstalling, thinking I could change the path. As it turns out I cannot. So I am stuck. I am on macOS Catalina.

Welcome.
In FMS Data Manager Settings tab, make sure your X-Plane 11 path is correct. Use black folder to browse to your X-Plane application.
In Addon Mappings tab, you should rescan.

It was unconventionally done but I got it going by copying the download and pasting inside the Custom Data folder. That was about two hours ago. I’m presently ensnared and getting the moving maps working. Not the first time I’ve had this dilemma, but I usually figure it out.
