Make Navigraph Charts useable with BATC, not Simbrief

Make finaly Navigraph usable for BATC, not Simbrief.

Hi Dietmar,
Well done on your first posting. Please explain a little bit more in detail what you mean by “usable for BATC and not Simbrief”. One line is not enough … unsure what you exactly mean because both are different applications.

Also, sometimes a “please and thank you” could be helpful … at least it´s a kind of friendliness.

I have also moved your request to the “Wishlist” category …

Thank you / Danke,
Richard

do you mean where BATC can read navigraphs data other than the simbriefs OFP?

High Richard,

first, I am sorry, u r right I was not friendly because I was upset for another reason, pls excuse me.

I fly MSFS 2020, and I have an unlimited Navigraph access to all data.

I love this software, I can plan free any IFR flight, I am not restricted like in Simbrief.

I feel free to do whatever I like to do, insert a waypoint delete a waypoint, whatever I want and

however, I like. This is not possible in Simbrief. By mistake I bought BATC, I didn’t know that

it doesn’t work without Simbrief if I know that before I would not buy. Now I have it, but don’t use it.

Here my wish, please make Navigraph usable for BATC. I am a Navigraph user, not a Simbrief user.

Dietmar

P.S. sry again for my unfriendliness

Hallo Dietmar,
Thank you very much for your detailed answer …

Unfortunately, I still don´t understand your exact need. BATC (Beyond To AtC) is an ATC application, and SimBrief is a flight planning and performance calculation application. So, these are two completely independent apps.

Further, you wrote that you are a Navigraph user, not a Simbrief user. Navigraph = Simbrief and Simbrief = Navigraph. That means Simbrief is an application from us (Navigraph). So, when you are an unlimited Navigraph user, you can (but don´t need to) use Simbrief, our charts, and our data. So, there is no difference - you decide what you want to use.

You can use our charts application for flight planning, too, instead of Simbrief. The flight planning in our charts app is possibly easier for you to use, and you can plan free flights, VFR or IFR flights, but without all the stuff like fuel calculation, ETOPS planning, etc.

The question from @swaluver480 is valid, and that’s exactly what I don´t understand either.

  • Are you looking for a possibility to import the Simbrief OFP in BATC?
  • Are you looking for a possibility to import an externally generated flightplan into BATC?

I miss the connection between our applications (Simbrief, charts, data) with the ATC application from BATC?

Thanks for the clarification.

High,

yes, but now I recognized that I am wrong, it’s a BATC problem to make their Software

compatible with Navigraph, not the duty of Navigraph.

Yeah, that’s it. Because BATC needs the Simbrief OFP to generate KI ATC.

Sorry for that, I forgot to think, before talking, shit happens.

No probs Dietmar - flightsimming can be very complex.

We offer our own SimBrief API, which every add-on developer can use. The implementation is the responsibility of the third-party developer, in your case, BATC. We can´t force any third-party developer to use it, so it´s really a decision of BATC to implement or not implement the API. It´s free from our side, so it´s “only” an effort of the other side.

So, there is no reason to apologize, you—sometimes, the responsibility is not 100% clear. Please don´t hesitate to contact us again whenever you need assistance or help, or have a specific question about our tools, like charts, Simbrief, or the navigational data.

In the meantime, enjoy your Friday!

Schönes Wochenende,
Richard
