Import Little NavMap

I figured it out. Can’t have Custom Waypoint names.

Hi,
does it mean you create a flightplan in our app and you would import it in LNM? When yes, please contact LNM.

Thank you
Richard

No, I have members of a group of pilots that send me potential flight plans that they’ve created with LNM. Most of the time they will name their custom waypoints, IE “Drawbridge” or “Waterfall” etc, etc. from wp1, wp2, wp3 etc, etc. If their flight plans include these “Custom Names”, Navigraph is unable to import these flight plans, therefore I have to rename every one of their Custom Waypoints.

Ah understood thank you - the problem here is, that we use the official/documented ATCWaypoint id for the custom waypoint name in the PLN file. LNM creates a own ICAO ident tag and renamed it. Therefore two different systems and therefore not 100% compatible.

This ICAO ident in the LNM file is normally not necessary (and also not official documented) and only a workaround to avoid the north-pole issue. Therefore we use the official version with the ATCWaypoint id … so please contact the LNM devs that he should set the custom-waypoint name to the ATCWaypoint id too and all will be working as expected - not only in our app, when you import such flightplan - also in the WorldMap of MSFS, because here you have exactly the same issue.

Here what I mean:

The official version what we use. When the ID has a name, all is good and you can import the flightplan and see also the custom waypoint names (in our app, in the MSFS WorldMap, …):

… and here the LNP exported PLN file. You see the ATCWaypoint id is the default one Custom but he added the ICAO Tag with the waypoint name. MSFS nor our app don´t look on this additional (un-supported tag) and therefore you get only a generic name:

So, LNM should change it in this way (if they will still included the ICAO tag:

Copy the custom-waypoint name from the ICAOIdent to the ATCWaypoint id thats it … and custom waypoint names will be shown you in our app, or in the MSFS WorldMap, … as expected.

Hope that helps,
Richard
