ILS 6 at KBDL missing IF/IAF

  • This issue occurs with the Navigraph FMS data, but not with the default MSFS data.
  • When selecting the procedure, both allow you to chose the initial fix as PENNA.
  • When using the default MSFS data, the IF/IAF is set to PENNA as it should be.
  • When using Navigraph data, the IF/IAF PENNA is skipped and the first waypoint on the approach is JANID.

Hi,
which aircraft? A in-game one or any mod? Have you tried it with the WorkingTizle CJ4?

Because what you describe seems the typical bug in the sim …truncating waypoints. The WT CJ4 uses the same data but their own flightmanagement, which works nearly perfect, at least better than the default one …

Hey Richard,

It occurs with the latest WT CJ4 and also the Carenado Mooney with the GNS530 mod. I’ve seen this occur at other airports as well but I don’t have that ILS info.

I haven’t tried with any default aircraft.

Hi again Joel,
I can confirm that but in this case, it looks like a WT CJ4 issue because in the data the PENNA is defined as IAF and also it´s the first waypoint in approach-transitions. So, for some reason the WT CJ4 skip this waypoint but I don´t see any logic for that.

I have tested this in the stock TBM930 and here you see the correct sequences:

PENNA - JANID is defined as approach transition (PENNA) and JANID - HUNEE - RW06 is the final. When you don´t select the PENNA transition, then you can go direct “JANID” that´s correct.

Sorry, but I can´t really say why they skip the PENNA waypoint. As you see in the screenshot, it´s included and also as IF/IAF. I recommand to report this to the WT guys …

Hey Richard,

I understand what you’re saying but it seems to me there may be more to this than the WT CJ4. I also had the same result with the Carenado Mooney which uses the default GNS530 I believe. I’m not sure what would explain this.

Again, I should mention that I use the GNS530 mod, but I believe this only changes fonts and appearances, not the actual navigation like the WT CJ4.
