GENERAL problem: Short range on Glidepaths

Hiya, just wondering if youd be able to bump up the range on the glidepaths to like 25 ish nm? Most ILS GPs dont come into range until 15nm before final which makes it quite tricky at places like Kai Tak where the intercept is quite far out. Also came into Haneda RJTT and had a similar issue when following chart clearances…
Is this something that can be fixed?

Do you mean the Glideslope or the Localizer? The localizer is still extended to the real-world values but here the sim limits the ranges to 27 or 28NM …

Normally, we set the GS to the same range as the LOC. I have checked your example RJTT and here all LOC/GS ranges are set to 20NM. When I compare it with the charts, I don´t see any IAF which is further away as of these 20NM. Kai Tak is special because this is a none existing airport and has no real reference any more.

Cheers,
Richard

The localiser is about 25nm ish I imagine. That appears first. For me at EVERY airport in game the glidepath will not appear until 14.9nm shows on the range. I dont know why it does that, but for example if I fly at the Kai Tak scenery by Ali501 the range of the GP is more correct but with Navigraph its firmly capped at 15.0…

I just did a landing at RKSS with default scenery and experienced the same…

Just flew to LOWI on the new Fenix sim with Navigraph on and couldn’t get the GP until 14.9DME. - Charts state GS indication available from 19.0DME at the final fix…
Somethings up with it…

Hi,
I´m not sure from where Fenix takes the DMEs but the ranges are not part of the Fenix database so I assume, they calculate it from the sim somewhere. Therefore, I have checked it in the sim with any default aircraft, if the GS range is correct or not …

Here a screenshot with the ASOBO A320, short before the waypoint ADWIG, set ILS26 … you see very clear, that the GS range is more then your´s

So, it´s at least no MSFS data issue … the LOC and GS range at LOWI is set to 30nm, so enough normally … Again, Fenix must do this by their own because we have no ranges in their dataset so when I would, I can´t extend it due the missing information in the Fenix database. As I wrote, the GS range in the MSFS database is set to 30nm and as you see on the screenshot, the GS is alive …

Sorry,
Richard
