G1000 Flight Plan importing stuck

Hello everyone! Thank you for the additional feedback.

What I am hearing is that you’re seeing mixed results. We’re working on another update with some additional fixes including the one mentioned in this topic already, so stay tuned for that one! We hope to have it released before the next AIRAC cycle.

We look forward to hearing your feedback on said update!

Kind Regards,
Malte

One additional datapoint I did not see discussed, which might be helpful to your diagnosis @skysail - Since SU1b3, all the approaches in the FMS are doubled up (specifically g5000/longitude).

After applying the small manifest patch referenced earlier in this thread, my flight plan started importing again AND the approaches in the FMS are no longer double-listed.

I’ve been getting this issue and the only way I’ve found to work round it is to exit MSFS2024 completely, go into navigraph hub and remove all the things, then reinstall all the things and then launch MSFS2024. Works as normal after that but only for one flight, it seems as soon as I turn the battery off on the plane on turning the battery back on the problem is back. I’m on SU1 .13 but this has been a problem since before I joined the beta flighting. I’ll read through this thread and see if any of the solutions provide a more robust solution than having to uninstall navigraph stuff and restart MSFS2024 every flight.

Yeah - it’s safe to say that this is not the experience that we intend to call “final”. We are still working on testing another iteration of the navigation data package, and it will hopefully be ready for the 2502 release!

We look forward to hearing your feedback then!

Kind Regards,
Malte

Tried the solutions and nothing solves the issue. This affects anything uses navdata (G1000/3000/PMS50 GT750).

It’s not linked to the battery going off, I tried uninstall then reinstall Navigraph Navdata and load MSFS, then load a plane (Longitude) into a location (EBLG) and turn on battery and load a flightplan from Simbrief. It loads. Turn off the batteries, what a few minutes turn back and redo the process and it still works. Exit MSFS and come back 12 hours later and do the above and I get the endless importing.

Do the above steps up till making it work, make a 3 hour flight after landing turn off plane while setup another flight in simbrief. Turn on battery load new simbrief and endless importing.

One thought is that it is time related and periodicaly MSFS is streaming corrupting data over the top of the Navigraph data. I’ve tried uninstalling/reinstalling Navigraph NavData while in the MSFS main menu and that doesn’t work so you have to exit fully from MSFS and do the uninstall/reinstall.

Hope the above helps in some small way with finding a solution.

I have another hint I didn’t see discussed in this thread yet. Sometimes when the import is stuck, I get this error after trying a second or third time:

The flight plan that would not load in this circumstance was:

KPVD/23 N0470F430 DCT PUT DCT NELIE Q75 GVE DCT MOL DCT KROA/06

And it seems like the Q75 Airway won’t load/does not work. Even if I enter it manually from NELIE it is empty/won’t apply.

EDIT: a few hours later, a totally different and unrelated flight plan that happened to include Q75 also failed to import (even after sim restart). Might be something about this airway or Q airways generally that aren’t working right.

Old preamble

Unfortunately there’s an arbitrary reply limit on the G1000 Flight Plan importing stuck thread (why? I’m trying to report debug data to help you…)

Adding my reply that would have gone there to here @skysail:

Here’s a different flight plan that imports… but doesn’t “connect”. Same experience described above. Once it’s imported, the FMS is totally busted until a sim restart - resetting/reloading the flight, updating the flight plan: nothing, the FMS is stuck and won’t reflect updates in the map (or allow enabling nav mode) until sim restart:

KPLN/32 N0479F450 DCT IGSEB DCT ALB NELIE3 KISP/24

An interesting commonality in my broken flight plans is the NELIE waypoint.

I have moved your post to this thread. If you have difficulties posting again, please advise the error message you are receiving and we shall investigate.

Cheers
Ian

Great news on my side: one of the latest updates (Navigraph and/or MSFS2024) seemed to solve the problem for me. Simbrief import worked the last few flights in G1000 and G3000. I hope this is persistent :face_with_peeking_eye:

The latest update to the AIRAC includes the package_order_hint. We are still working on some fixes that should increase the stability further, but we’re happy to hear that things are already moving in the right direction!

Read and tried all the “fixes” in this thread and still not working. Always get stuck on importing flight plan with G1000 and G3/5000.

This is with Msfs2024 that’s up to date currently but NOT using the beta.

Hopefully, this can be fixed soon. Sucks to pay the high price for a broken game and/or subscription service on Navigraphs end that is not working also.

Hello! We’re sorry that you’re having trouble with the import function.

We would appreciate it if you could share the route you are trying to import so we can try to reproduce it!

It’s also worth noting that there are signs that 3rd party scenery can cause issues due to not being updated to use Asobo’s recommendations for package ordering. With this in mind, please also specify if you are using any third-party scenery.

Also, see this topic for a quick way to verify what Navigation data is being used:

Kind Regards,
Malte

Not a specific route that’s having problems. It can be any IFR plan in my case. But, the latest multiple repeat route is KCAE - KMMT.

I don’t have any 3rd party scenery or add-ons in 2024. It already has enough problems. Haha

I’ll verify if the Navigraph data is being used in a few min.

Thank you for the additional details! Please provide the entire route, not just the origin and destination. Unless you’re going directly to the destination?

KCAE-KMMT. VOR Way point will be CAE.

Did the debug and no overlay information came up for me to read.

Is the route simply KCAE CAE KMMT, no procedures?

You were trying to import from SimBrief, right? Can you share the flight with me? Just load the flight in dispatch.simbrief.com, copy the URL, and send it here.

Do we have news on that? That this is really boring that we have to randomly fully exit the sim and restart just to import a flight-plan…

The latest news, as far as I am aware, is that we had something working but that the most recent SU1 Beta update broke it again - without documentation as to what has changed. We’ll continue this process which is starting to feel like a wild goose chase - rest assured that we’d let you know if we had good news on this topic! We are still focusing heavily on this.
