FIN number in the aircraft profile

I am wondering what the Fin.number is and the intention with it?
I am not able to find any information from the original IRL aircraft related to this expression.

Any help appreciated

Hi, some airlines use fin numbers to identify their aircraft. Most often this number is found on the tail and/or nose gear doors:

Not all airlines use fin numbers, and not all OFP formats include this information. But for those that do, SimBrief lets you set the fin number.
