Cleveland Hopkins (KCLE) ILS I-CLE 06R

Hello all here - hope you’re doing fine!

After my retirement I’ve just started to re-learn virtual flying with the PMDG 737 series. The first flight from KRFD to KCLE with MSFS was fine. But I found out that ILS runway 06R is wrong: It’s displayed as 109,900 MHz but it should read 111,900 MHz as the real thing does. Checked that with Navigraph charts, with LIDO and Airnav.

My question is who’s “delivered” the error? The scenery designer (PacSim is very hard to contact) or Navigraph as the AIRAC provider?

If possible can you check this please, Navigraph?

Thanks so much in advance - have a good time!

Bert

Hi Bert,
it seems a scenery issue, because also we have 111.90 for the ILS 06R @KCLE in our database and also in the PMDG data:

Here from the PMDG files (AIRAC 2403):

… and also the DME part, correct frequency:

The best thing to test this is to remove the 3rd party scenery and to try the approach again. A second question is, have you set the package priority correctly? Means, all packages must be BETWEEN the navigraph-navdata-base package and the navigraph-navdata package in the content.xml file. You can set this manually in the file or directly via the MSFS with the Pre-Order Tool.

Cheers,
Richard

Hello Stefan!

Nice to read you again…

Indeed the named order for both Navirgraph entries was wrong. I don’t have any experience to alter the (internal) XML with the Developer mode of MSFS but I tried to set

navigraph-navdata-base

on top and

navigraph-navdata

at the end of the shown list.

But the XML file in the LocalCache folder of MSFS looks different.

XML-priorities-after

I checked the ILS I-CLE again with PacSim’s scenery and it remains beeing 109,90 MHz instead of the correct 111,90 MHz. Then I’ve deinstalled PacSim’s KCLE: No change… 109,90 MHz.

With PMDG’s 738 and Navigraph’s AIRAC 2403 (rev, 5 installed) I can dial in 111,90 MHz and it is indicated well on the PFD. So I guess that the wrong indication is MSFS standard not changed with PacSIm’s KCLE or with your AIRAC. I was pretty sure that the Navigraph AIRAC’s change those frequencies?

Thanks for your time!

Bert

Hi Bert,
yep, we are “old” men in a “young” community now  … but I feel still fun on this hobby equal business

Bert, I have just figured out, that you´re not looking on the ICLE 06R, your screenshot shows IHPI 24L and here the frequency is 109.90. You must look on the opposite because the localizer are located on the end of runways (so for 06L at the end of 06L or in other words at 24L)

So, I assume you use the wrong localizer here …

Cheers,
Richard

Hi Stefan!

I found this out yesterday evening making the approach with a PMDG 738 using the correct (!) frequency: Wondering what I’ve though so far - If I thought :frowning: The best keyword here is indeed “old”.

May I ask you to delete this thread please? I’m ashamed from myself…

Thanks!

Bert

Hi Bert,
no need to be ashamed … you see, I also have overseen this in your initial posting. It happens and we are humans, and humans make mistakes. We all (from FS Magazin) know your experiences and also your know how from the last 20 years. We are “mammoths” in the community but honestly, I don´t feel like a “mammoth” - I like what we are doing here, I like to help where I can and of course, I like it, when topics can close successfully, like this one.

Normally, we don´t delete any topics because it´s possible that someone runs into the same “issue”, makes the same mistake. So, if it´s ok for you, I would stay this topic and will mark it as solved only

Personal comment in german
Ich wünsch dir auf jedenfall einen schönen Mittwoch, eine schöne restliche Woche und vielleicht hört, liest man sich wieder einmal!

Thanks - good argument - keep this thread please!

Indeed we’re “Dinasaurs” from all the way down the 1980ties and 1990ties. In this times we have been satisfied with simple, rough, analog instruments and single colored, mostly flat areas. And now we’re using MSFS - what a fantastic development! So to say I still feel “young”…
