I’m currently using version 7.6.1, when loading Charts it says an update is available which I press and it updates to 7.7.1 after which I press SAVE just to be sure it stays. However when I restart Charts later its gone back to 7.6.1 and saying there is an update available ?

Welcome.
Make sure when you “restart Charts” you aren’t restarting the downloaded installer again.

When using the Charts icon in my taskbar I get the above problem, but when using the Programs menu icon in Navigraph Charts it works fine. So looks like you were right the taskbar icon was opening the wrong file.
Anyway now sorted, thanks again for your help
