I have downloaded the FMS Data Manager for Windows from my account page.
I use Windows 10 Pro.
After launching the installation the first couple of steps work fine: End User Agreement, Select Additional Tasks, Ready to install. As soon as I hit “Install” I get an error message that says that the “Drive or UNC Share you selected does not exist or is not accessible. Please select another.”
There is no possibility to select the drive or folder where I install - so how can I fix this?
I did have a previous installation of the FMS Data Manager in a place that no longer exists. Does that possibly cause the problem?
Thank you very much for your quick response - very impressive!
I have done all the things you have suggested:
Deinstalling the existing application. Had done that before, it says that it cannot find the uninst.exe file in the location. And indeed, the location does no longer exist (something must have gone wrong when I deinstalled the application previously with this method, before changing my drive and folder structure)
So what happened when you installed FMS Data Manager into default location. Please provide screenshots of any error messages using Guide to posting Screenshots
In fact, I have no choice at all where to install FMS Data Manager - I just hit install, so I presume it goes to the default location. Here are the screenshots, I did not leave out any step (so you can see that at no moment does the installer offer to select where to install the application)
I presume that the problem comes from an old installation of FMS Data Manager still being in the registry, but the location where the installation supposedly sits no longer exists. But I am not enough of a computer person to be sure that this is the reason.
If you use the Control Panel\Programs and Features and find there isn’t an uninstall program, you should be prompted to remove the application from the list. Then you should be able to reinstall.
