Just started using navigraph charts and I am having a problem. I created a flight plan after watching video on how to do that. That is done but when I enable moving maps it gives me a message that no simulater is running. I have simlink and it finds Xplane 12 and the plugin is in Xplane 12. I am technology challenged and I really could use some help in solving this. I love the navigraph chart. I couldn’t find an answer on my particular problem but i am sure that I not the only one who has it. Any help and/or directions would be greatly appreciated. It also says that simlink needs to be running, which it is.
To use the Navigraph Moving Map functionality in the Navigraph Charts application, please review the points below:
The Navigraph Simlink application requires an internet connection. This allows it to connect with our Navigraph server and broadcast flight data for the Moving Map functionality. Ensure that the Simlink application can connect to the internet and is not blocked by Windows Defender or any antivirus software.
The Simlink application must be installed on the same PC where X-Plane is installed and running.
Based on your screenshot, it appears that you have already installed the Simlink plugins for X-Plane. When you start the X-Plane flight simulator, the Simlink application should automatically start in the background. You can check if Simlink is running from the Windows tray, as shown in the screenshot below.
Make sure you are logged in with the same Navigraph user account in both the Simlink application and the Navigraph Charts application.
When you start a flight in X-Plane, the Simlink application will receive the flight data as shown in the screenshot below. At this point, you should be able to check the Moving Map function in the Charts application.
Thank you for your help. I checked what you suggested but it didn’t fix the problem. So what I did was to uninstall simlink then the charts. Redownloaded both applications and this seemed to fix it as it is working now. I think it was the combination of your information that led me thinking to a different approach to the problem and the reinstall of the software. Basically, operator error. Anyway, it’s working now! Hooray! Thank you to all that helped.
Best regards,
Robert
