I did a keyword search for anything ‘blue’ and ‘charts’ or ‘plates’ and no hits
shown in this screenshot. this is repeatable. Feature? or a bug?
thanks

Hello! Welcome back to our forum!
If you don’t mind, I’ll add some additional context that you originally posted on Discord:
whenever the autopilot is switched to APPR (approach) the plate turns blue. Is this a bug or a “feature”? I added this as a post in the forum under Charts. (edited)
It definitely looks like a bug. Can you consistently reproduce this, every time that you switch tabs in the charts list?
Kind Regards,
Malte
Malte,
It has been like this for years. 100% of the time.

Thank you. And this is MSFS 2020 right?
I cannot reproduce this issue, regardless of whether I am in “Fake VR” mode (developer setting) or in regular 2D mode.
I do not have access to a VR headset, so I can’t try that out right now, but can you confirm that you get this issue even if not using VR? Perhaps I am doing something wrong, are there more steps that need to happen for this issue to occur?
Kind Regards,
Malte
Malte, I know what you’re asking. I suspect this is an issue with the in-game panel. How can I help? Jump on Discord voice channel for a sec? Guessing you’re in Sweden.
Wondering if I met you at breakfast in Vegas last June; I was sitting at the table with Magnus. I’ve never flown in 2D, it’s just too difficult to look around the cockpit.
I’m in 2020; bought 2024, but will have to wait another year before it’s fixed, probably.
thanks,

It could very well be the in-game panel, but I cannot reproduce it myself. I will forward the investigation to colleagues with access to a VR headset - we need to be able to confirm the issue ourselves in order to work on a fix. I will let you know if we can reproduce it!
If possible, could you record the whole process from your perspective? That way we know exactly what steps to take which would make the investigation easier.
I see. Could you try it in 2D mode just to see if the same thing happens there? If not, no worries! We’ll still try to reproduce it on our own!
That is entirely possible! My memory is not as great as yours, but I was at FSExpo last summer together with the team! I’m looking forward to this summer’s event!
Kind Regards,
Malte
OK, completely redone in 2D (no VR)
before, after and the association with the keystroke of control-a in MSFS2020 to set APPROACH which turns the chart blue
Malte, I updated the forum page. Hope that helps.

I fixed this when I mapped the APPROACH button via SpadNext to a button on the Honeycomb Bravo throttle quadrant. So, the conflict was a control-a button that causes this, but only at the approach phase of the flight. OK to close this ticket. thanks
Hello! Thank you for the update, your solution could help future users having the same issue! I will mark the topic as solved.
Ctrl + A means “Highlight all” - if our in-game panel is in focus, then it is expected to get highlighted in blue like that depending on where the focus is. This should not happen if you click outside the panel and/or interact with the cockpit before pressing Ctrl + A.
Kind Regards,
Malte
Malte, yeah, strange, huh? Because that key combination only causes that chart to change when approaching the IAF.

That’s puzzling indeed! Well, as long as it works for you then we’re happy. Let us know if you have any other issues!
