Many aircraft support wind data for fuel burn and ToD calculations.
As a pilot, I’d like to be able to acquire updated wind information that can be uploaded into the FMS - without generating a new OFP, so I can have accurate wind data for necessary calculations.
Ideally, on an existing OFP - would have the ability to:
- Request a wind update on an existing OFP in Simbrief
- (aircraft dependent) Have the ability to “request” new wind data in the FMS
Today, I would have to generate a new OFP to retrieve updated wind data. Some aircraft wouldn’t be compatible with this approach because it may be treated like a new flight plan - despite the fact that I’m mid-flight.
