Microsoft just released AAU3. Now many users report MSFS crashes to desktop on loading as long as the Navigraph Airac is installed. Removing your Navdata seems to solve the problem. Microsoft seems investigating already. Could you please help shed some light on the problem?
Yes. Same here. The problem is the AIRAC cycle 2409 rev.1.

Yep same, after going thru everything in Community the last thing I expected to cause issue was the AIRAC, removed and sim launches OK.

It’s a sim issue sorry we can’t do anything … They have changed something but we have no idea what - there was and still is no information about what they have changed.
Sorry,
Richard
Hi all! There has been an issue identified with the Navigraph AIRAC data that could be causing crashes to desktop upon loading after the AAU3 update published by MS this morning. For more details, see this forum post. MS is also escalating on their end to determine the root cause.
Hi,
this is an ASOBO/MS issue. It was working before, we have no idea what they have changed … It was working normally before, so they have changed something.
Please report this to ASOBO/MS … Thank you!
Cheers
Richard
Thanks, Richard! We know the community managers over at the MSFS forums have escalated this internally within MS, so hopefully they’ll shed more light on this to y’all soon.
Thought I am used to it meanwhile… but the great QC from Asobo/M$ fascinates me everytime again
It´s a very good example, why addon developer should use external databases, instead the in-game bgl data - to be completely independent from any MS/ASOBO update.
Sorry guys, I have tried to re-compile the data but without any success - there must be any other issue somewhere.
Cheers,
Richard
Ok - good news, at least from my view. I uninstalled Navigraph before ever running the sim today - in my case, Steam pushed a 99MB file out to the install path, then the MSFS Installer pushed a 600MB update (AAU3) out. I completed booting the sim, checked basic functionality, all OK. Shut down the sim, reinstalled the NG AIRAC, restarted the sim. Basic function check again including a flight, all is good.
The long and the short - follow basic procedure as a Navigraph subscriber - if you KNOW a patch is coming or read about it from others, uninstall the NG AIRAC first before ever running the sim that day, and keep it off until the patch hits you. We’ve all rolled the dice before leaving the NG AIRAC in place during a Sim Update, but we know that’s not good practice.
As Richard said, the problem is somewhere else.
Sadly, that documented process didn’t work for me. If I re-install the AIRAC data, MSFS crashes to desktop during launch.
Did you remove Navigraph BEFORE AAU3 hit your sim install?
That seems to be the key difference so far. Everyone else installed AAU3 with Navigraph in place, which goes against basic cautions for years.
HA! good point But it always went well… until…
I also have the issue. So I be one off the many that just ignored the warning…
Should be a way that this will be fixed between Asobo and Navigraph. Else just wait a few weeks and install MSFS 2024 from scratch
Since installing the MSFS 2020 update today, it now crashes every time I try to start it. I have narrowed it down to Navigraph. If I have any of the Navigraph components in my community folder it just crashes to desktop. All other addons in the community folder work fine. Any suggestions, I’m lost without Navigraph.
I concur. Removing all navigraph folders under my Community folder allows MSFS 2020 to load. Not sure which specific folder it is, but this is what I have:
FYI: I created Community.old and moved sections into my Community folders (i.e. Airports and-or Liveries) to Community until the sim crashed with Navigraph folders.
Regards.
Just deleting the Navigraph data/cycle will let the sim start.
Hello Navigraph Team,
with the todays Aircraft & Avionics Update 3 of MSFS 2020 the sim is crashing to desktop while loading with Navigraph AIRAC Cycle 2409 rev.1 installed. When removing it, it works.
I can not find anything in the MSFS changelog, which would cause any problems with the Navigraph Navdata. Could you please check what the issue might be?
Would be great to use actual Navdata inside the sim I paid for .
Thanks and best regards
