Good day,
I have been a long time user of Simbrief and have recently found that when I put ZFW to auto and generate in the B77-300ER from PMDG the weight I receive from Simbrief is alway 201-210tonnes and 55-58% load factor. I have seen this on other planes, but noticed it especially on the B77W. I use the PMDG config for Simbrief, but have had the same with default.
I have reached out to 3 different random members on Vatsim now and they have reported the same issue after I have asked them about it.
Is this something you guys could look into to? It is not a major issue. I use the 777 FMC to randomly select a ZFW now, but would love for Simbrief to auto generate it for me. It might be something I am doing wrong, but I have even gone and put “Freight” to auto. Basically everything auto and ZFW stays the same.
Hi,
SimBrief generates passenger loads that are randomized, but that normally fall within 60-100% passenger count. Most airlines are operating flights that are mostly full (this is how they make money after all), so it’s quite normal for the ZFW to be similar most of the time.
I had a look at some of your recent flights over the past few days and saw the following passenger and ZFW values:
Flight |
Passengers |
ZFW |
OMDB-KORD |
366 |
209.7 |
EGLL-OMDB |
292 |
200.4 |
OMDB-EBBR |
357 |
209.3 |
RPLL-OMDB |
283 |
201.3 |
OMDB-RPLL |
336 |
207.2 |
So the passenger counts are varying quite realistically (maybe even a bit too much), but they just don’t make that much of a difference to the ZFW. The bigger factor in ZFW variance is the amount of freight, so you’ll definitely need to keep Freight set to “Auto” if you want to see more variance.
I’ll look into increasing the randomness of the Freight value too. It seems too consistent right now.
Best regards,
